Staff seemed very unknowledgeable, they were not aware of what "Baltic birch" plywood was, they had no hardwoods. The lumber staff called half inch plywood "skins" and also referred to hardwood veneer as "skins". Person at the counter wouldn't even turn around to talk to me even though I was the only customer in the establishment at the time. Gave two stars because he did give good advice with his back turned and the other associate that approached later was very helpful

The inside is really clean. It's not over stuffed with product which gives it a more open feel. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Prices are reasonable and product quality is great. Caters mostly to contractors and such but general public is welcome and accepted as well. Highly recommend.

Delivery buyers beware! I had a delivery to a location that was not terribly far from Palmer, but there was no phone access. I had explained to the customer service that my contractor was staying there for a week in order to get the project done and that I needed to be sure that the lumber was straight so that we didn't have to send back and prolong the project.When the delivery came the driver said "HAND PICKED!".' My contractor checked the first and second layer of 2x6's and said they were good.Once past the second layer it was as if they'd purposely picked out the worse in the yard. Every board warped or twisted. One literally had a hole where the knot had previously fallen out of.' Absolute garbage. It took my contractor an extra days worth of time just to fight with the boards, costing me even more money. So the money I saved by using them went right out the door.

Best hardware store in Chehalis and lumber yard in Lewis County. Excellent selection of more pro grade tools and materials. Need a lumber package or unit of lumber? Talk to Rhett, he will take care you with expertise. Rhett is a fantastic asset to Palmer. Material orders, deliveries and questions.... The best.
