Stu replaced a fuel pump in my truck and charged me almost $600. What a ripoff. He claimed that the fuel lines were rusted, blah, blah, blah.

I had been dreading my annual drive down to Southern California to visit family for Christmas. I have a 1999 Suburban that I still have cling to for nostalgic reasons. The suburban has had many problems in the past and had a cracked dashboard which GMC in Everett refused to fix because they no longer have the part in stock and that they don't install 3rd party products. I checked all over then finally went to Stu, who said he would install the dash. He did a great job and the car stopped rattling when I would drive because of the broken dash. I decided to have him work on the car to get it ready for the ride down to SoCal. He did have the car for two weeks and during that time I would call and have him fix small things like door handles and cosmetic things on the vehicle in addition to rebuilding the distributor cap. I didn't need the vehicle during that time so it was not a big deal to me. After receiving the vehicle back and driving to So Cal I was surprised that the vehicle drove so well. I returned today from the 2000 mile journey (the return trip in constant rain and snow). The vehicle with over 180,000 miles ran great and I will be going to Stu on a regular basis. I have also gone to Simmons and have received great service. I think it is great that there are so many great options in Clinton. Especially when I can walk home from either place when I drop the car off.

We brought Stu a real odd job, removing a part of a van not meant for removal. It required cutting, drilling, and torching. Stu stuck with it, got it done, and charged a fair price.

Had Stuart replace a timing belt, water pump, intake manifold gasket and radiator in my 1993 Honda Prelude. He had my car in his shop for 2 MONTHS. I get it back with a broken sensor near the intake manifold and within 3 weeks the valve cover was leaking and burning oil so bad I took the car back to the shop and left it for 2 days. (The valve cover has to come off to service the timing belt.) When I went to go get the car, Stu said he couldn't find "any major issues" and then he stated "it sounds like it's running great, I'd say don't baby it." Not even 3 months later my engine destroyed itself. Wasted $$$. I filed a BBB complaint in February 2018 which was unanswered by Clinton Automotive. I then sent a detailed demand letter on March 3, 2018 via certified mail and that was returned to me, marked "refused" on March 8. I am now resorting to Small Claims Court.

Kind, funny and knowledgeable. I drive a car with over 270,000 miles on it and Stu keeps it going. He has a great work ethic and gives accurate and detailed estimates.

I recently bought an old work truck and brought it Clinton Automotive to get checked out. Stu has been a huge help so far, diagnosing and fixing problems quickly and affordably. Highly recommended.
