“First time at Cole's Organic Orchard - wow! My visit was almost mid-July to pick cherries. What mouthwateringly sweet Bings and Rainier. I picked almost 30 pounds of some of the most beautiful cherries. Also, purchased apricots to enjoy.

This will be my go-to for organic local farm-raised fruit. Excited to look forward to peaches, pears, apples and prunes.

Steve is friendly, kind and helpful in sharing tips to enjoy his bounty.

“Beck’s Harvest House is a good seasonal destinations in Spokane. Their huckleberry ice cream and donuts are amazing and their huckleberry cheesecake is so good that I can’t stop eating it. Also in fall they make fresh pumpkin donuts, they have long line for that. They have fall festival too.
During the summer, they also host great live music concerts. You can shop for fresh local fruits, enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating area and relax with a glass of wine in their outdoor space separate from main seating. We regularly visit for pumpkins, seasonal ice cream, cheesecake, cider, sandwiches, apple pie and fresh produce. We’ve also attended special events where we’ve happily paid for parking because we enjoy supporting the business.

Unfortunately, my experience this past Saturday was very disappointing. I stopped by to buy peaches and cherries and wanted only about half the amount of loose cherries. I asked an older gentleman working the fruit stand if I could have a bag for the cherries. He told me the bag cost him 50 cents, so he couldn’t give me one. I explained that I was already paying $5.99 per pound for the cherries and that I’d be happy to pay for the bag if needed. Instead of helping, he spoke to me very rudely, making me feel as though I was asking for something for free.

After being a long term customer and spending a significant amount of money there over the years, I was surprised and disappointed by the way I was treated. One unpleasant interaction won’t erase all the wonderful experiences we’ve had at Beck’s, but I hope the management reminds staff that kindness and good customer service are just as important as the great products they sell. The more they started getting popular I hope they don’t forget how to treat people.
