Our experience with Big 5 has been ok. They usually have something along the lines of what we need, they don't have enough floor space to have multiples of options on items so I totally get it. Prices are a bit spendy compared to online prices, but again that's to be expected. Staffing is usually pretty non existent but again you don't really see very many in a specialized sporting goods store so that's normal too. Honestly I'm happy to still have them in the area, times have got to be tough and they're providing a well needed service for the area otherwise big box stores are all we'd have locally and they never have enough of anything. Thanks Big 5 for hanging in there.

I needed shoes and was having no luck with other retailers in the area. I went into Big 5 and found the shoe area. Large wall of single shoes. Not a soul around to help. I wanted a pair of black New Balance in a wide width. Most of the shoes on the shoe wall had no indication they were or weren't available in wide width. Still no one around to assist. Finally, in frustration, I left the store. As I was leaving, I stumbled upon 3 employees hanging at the front of the store having a chit chat. As I walked by, one asked if I had found what I was looking for and I replied, NOPE and left the store. I wouldn't have had the largest purchase of the day but maybe I would have been back over and over. Most likely, I won't be back at all.

I only needed a part of baseball pants. But the overall customer service was very good. The pants were the wrong size so I will be returning g them for a larger size. But the service was very good during my purchasing experience.

Store was fine. They did not have many snow boots at the time (big snowstorm had just hit us). Great deals on hiking boots though.
