On June 27, I had a hair appointment at this Ulta location that resulted in significant scalp injury and severe hair damage.
During the service, I told the stylist multiple times that my scalp was burning. She did not stop or take proper precautions. On July 1, large scabs began forming and peeling from my head, which I have documented in photos and videos.
I was later examined by three professional salons, each providing written assessments and repair cost estimates ranging from $800 to $2,500 per salon — minimum — just to begin corrective work. One salon’s written note states my hair is “severely compromised” with “tons of breakage” and that the stylist should have stopped at the very first sign of distress. I also have a $130 medical bill from Kaiser and ongoing scalp discomfort.
Ulta’s corporate representative later offered me $1,200 as a “final offer” — an amount that doesn’t even cover one corrective treatment, let alone the total cost, pain, and recovery time. I declined.
This location has in-store surveillance cameras, which may have recorded my visible distress, the number of people involved, and the service as it occurred. I have requested that this footage be preserved as evidence.
I trusted Ulta to provide a safe, professional service. Instead, I left with lasting damage to my hair and scalp. No one should have to go through what I experienced.

i went in this morning and got my hair done by audrey! she is so kind and sweet and she did an amazing job on my hair. i was so impressed by her that i called the store and told the salon manager how great she is. my hair looks amazing, she had a great attitude, had great hair product recommendations, and i’ll definitely be back. thanks audrey!

Sammie/Felicia are the sweetest stylist 😍 💕 they make me look gorgeous every single time. They never let me leave without being happy on how I look. I can't tell you enough just how happy that makes me. Also, they were the sweetest to my pup that came along, and he's my world so that's a A+ in my book. Thank you!

I recently booked a haircut, unfortunately as soon as the cutting started I knew it wasn’t going to be what I asked for, but I was a hairstylist before and wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe it wouldn’t be a bad cut, just not the style I wanted. She was unbelievably sweet, but by the end I was being rushed out and barely got to see it dry. I got home and immediately noticed it wasn’t what I wanted but tried to get over it. It’s been 4 days and every day I notice something major wrong with it, now I just entirely regret it.
It already was a big change/large chop, but each side is entirely different from the other, it’s a couple inches shorter than discussed, one side is stacked with layers and the other has one layer and is disconnected from the perimeter, one side is also entirely longer than the other, I had tons of hair longer in the nape of my neck that I had to trim myself, the bangs are much chunkier than discussed.
It’s very disappointing, and will take months to grow out to try again.
Covering my face in photos purely because I was crying… not looking for a phone call, fix or refund. Just maybe more attentive training during apprenticeship.

The Ulta Beauty store in Covington Washington, I went inside for the very first time with my beautiful wife. I was amazed by all the name brand products in the ultra beauty store in Covington Washington 98042. I was absolutely amazed. No, wander so many women shops there. It is absolutely a very amazing place to shop and the staff there are amazing also. Each staff member there, great you with a very gorgeous smile and say, how may I help you? I was blew away, bcuz each staff member is very acknowledged regarding the products and the ones you also seek. There is a very small very section for mens, but that was ok..the selection was excellent for me, bcuz ultra carrier the cologne I wear ,it the high end Parfum for mens..."Sauvage by Dior" if you smell it , you will be hooked. I buy the Parfum, it last longer. So, don't cheat yourself if you are a man. I loves to smell good and look good too! So if you are reading my review about Ulta Beauty in Covington Washington, if you haven't been there, jump in your car and go there, please. Ladies, don't cheat yourself..Even tho many of you are absolutely drop dead gorgeous and you don't require make up, many of you gorgeous women are absolutely naturally gorgeous...Oooowee, I definitely see you and appreciate you. I must say..you shall always receive total respect. So, I say once again I give my approval to ulta Beauty! Plus, to all the most gorgeous women I have seen shop there..Oooowee, is what I say to myself...you definitely turns many heads. And once again for all the naturally gorgeous women/woman who shop at ulta Beauty...I appreciate you and respect you!

I got a curly cut and asked to even out the sides. I also asked to keep as much length as possible. She then made the sides more uneven than they already were, took off most of my length and styled my hair with minimal effort or thought. I had to walk her through on exactly what i wanted to do and she still messed it up. She claims to be a curly hair specialist but used wavy hair products and made my hair extremely frizzy. She is definitely not fit to work with curly hair at all. (Audrey A. was my stylist)

I went to Ulta for a balayage. I brought photos of what I wanted and explained in both English and Spanish that my hair tends to turn warm/orange when bleached. At the time, my hair was blonde with some warm tones, not too much. The specialist (Kathy) who had a higher service rate than the rest of her colleagues, informed me that we needed to do a color correction, which is an additional charge of $60 on top of the balayage I requested.
What I didn't like at all was that she darkened my hair and left brush marks. I immediately told her that it was much darker than before. She advised me to wait, as the color would lighten in two weeks. I returned before the two weeks because it was still under warranty. I felt very sad and frustrated to see the stains in my hair and that the color remained dark. Those of us who dye our hair blonde know it takes a lot of effort to achieve the desired tones.
When I returned, her assistant, Bea, who was very kind, applied a gloss to help me. Despite her good intentions, the color was not corrected, the stains remained, and my hair turned even more orange.
I am leaving photos so you can see the difference. The ones with sunglasses and where I'm wearing blue are from before I went, and the rest are of the work they did. I don't know what to do in these cases. I wish I had demanded a refund and gone somewhere else.
Now I don't know what to do because they ruined my hair and I lost my money. I don't think I'll ever go to Ulta again in my life.

Don't get your hair done here. I don't know why I did but l assumed no one would mess up a simple trim. It's not like I was getting it dyed or anything, right? Anyways, I went with hair down past my tailbone. Asked for her to show me how much 3 inches off would be, she showed me, I said yes let's do it. Went home, cried a solid amount, now my hair is barely past my waist. She cut off SEVEN INCHES. I'm getting married in half a year and just wanted healthy hair and no extensions and now I have basic mid length hair. Idk how you mess up a simple trim but yeah, my fav attribute about myself is gone for my wedding day lol. Still sobbing
