They answer the phone when I call. That's worth 5 stars these days. They're more reliable than the two Bellingham and the Ferndale locations.

- I have been mailing several hundred items via USPS every month for well over 22 years. Over 60,000 items mailed via USPS. About 4 to 5 years ago after having so many unpleasant, frustrating experiences at the Blaine, WA USPS location I made my way down from Vancouver, BC to this location because I was tired of being so rudely treated and tired of mistakes made by the senior post office staff at the Blaine location with basically no desire to provide any customer service at all. No wonder there was a continuous turnover of senior staff there. Most of the counter staff at Blaine were very helpful - some even told me if I have a USPS problem they would do what they could to help me rather than trying to get the senior staff to resolve the problem. Once the Postmaster wrote me a letter of apology when the supervisor I was dealing with told me I was wrong about a mailing issue and basically old me to get lost. After calling her and checking on what I had told that supervisor the Postmaster called me back told me I was 100% correct. Not sure if the supervisor ever got any disciplinary action over that major fiasco she caused. Found out later she was made Postmaster of another small post office in Washington. Not sure if that should have happened as she was not up to date on postal regulations.
So far at the Custer post office I have not been disappointed - Susan and the staff are so pleasant and always helpful. Always speedy and quick service from them. It's absolutely worth the extra miles to go there. If you want a good USPS experience with great customer service I highly recommend you use this post office location and not the Blaine location.

The great reviews were not lying.Short wait, efficient and courteous staff, convenient access and parking. What’s not to like. I was choosing a more expensive shipping option and since the truck had already left, the lady even talked me out of it and saved me money.

After having truly unpleasant experiences at other USPS locations, I made my way down from Vancouver, BC to this location because of a few glowing reviews I read online.I was not disappointed at all! The lady behind the counter was so pleasant and helpful, and it's absolutely worth the extra mile to make your way to this location if you need to go to USPS. I highly recommend.

Made the 80 minute drive out here from Canada after reading the numerous positive reviews on here.Arrived on a Monday around 4pm, only 2 other customers at that time. I had to send a parcel to Kazakhstan and it would have cost me $530CAD using Canada Post. With USPS..... $96US! Ridiculous disparity huh?The worker behind the counter, named Susan, was very friendly. Super helpful in assisting me on how to fill out the customs form and has an all around great customer service skills. I would like her to get the recognition she deserves.There are closer USPS locations to me but I do not mind driving a bit more to get this type of service.Thank you again Susan.

Small town post office , warm, friendly customer service! Very compact parking lot and building but can meet any of your postal needs. No lines/no wait whatsoever! Please NOTE: this location is closed for lunch between 11:30-12:30.
