After my third appointment in a row I figured I'm overdue for a five star review!! I've consistently had an amazing experience at Akira Nails! The staff is incredibly efficient, yet they never make me feel rushed. They are meticulous about the quality of their work and made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire appointment, providing pop and water. I loved learning that Akira Nails is a family-run business, handed down from older to younger sister and supported by their mom and dad. The warm, friendly atmosphere really adds to the experience. And the true star of the show is Caroline!!! She's an absolute artist, as evidenced by the adorable watermelon design she achieved in this photo. My nails look and feel fantastic, with no peels or chips for 4+ weeks. I will definitely be a regular here from now on. Thank you!

10/10. Amazing service. They take their time with your nails, but are also swift. I had been struggling with finding the right nail salon for me, and Akira is it! This is my second visit, I asked for a design as I'm attending a golf tournament in Lake Tahoe this weekend. My nail tech absolutely killed it! I am so happy I discovered them, and will be recommending this salon to everyone.

Scheduled nails for prom online and called to have it confirmed as owner has to approve the appointment before it's scheduled. The lady who answered hung up on my daughter, so I called a second time. Lady who answered said to call back at 6pm because the owner wasn't in, and she added "we're busy right now" then hung up on me. Owner eventually canceled our appointment for no reason. Don't know how their actual service is, but customer service on the front end with scheduling and phone etiquette is dismal. Not a good look for this business

Super pleasant experience at Akira Nails! Very communicative, prompt and timely. I showed them an idea of what I wanted for the design and they were able to make it unique to me—helped me pick the right colors and everything. My nail tech was Jennifer and I appreciated her attention to detail and her taking her time to make sure the shape and look of my nails overall looked perfect. I also appreciated that throughout every step she made sure I was okay with what she was doing, and took my feedback if I wasn’t.

I have been going to this nail place for over 10 years! Today was my last visit. I scheduled a mani pedi. When I got there I asked the girl if she could do a full set instead. She talked to the other girl and said yes. I did not know she wasn't a nail tech! I told her several times that I didn't lik the shape. She then got aggressive and I was shocked. Another girl came over and tried to fix them. She told me next time I need to be more clear because I needed a nail tech! Excuse me I clearly asked if she had time for a full set! I answered that I will not be coming back again. I left with such a mess! I really went to relax on a Friday. Such a disappointment! Make sure you are very "clear" with them!

I’ve only been to Akira nails 2x but I’m very impressed. I get dip nails and Jennifer the nail tech did an amazing job. She is so thorough and gentle. I’ve been getting my nails done for many years. I’ve always found nail places rushing through to get my nails done. Akira is completely different. Jennifer took a whole hour to do my nails. She did a great job and as a said gentle. My last nail place in Edmonds would only take 30 minutes to do my nails and I would always experience some type of pain while getting my nails done.
I hope I continue to receive great care. Thank you

I had my nails done at Akira and after less than 48 hours everything started to peel. In the past, my pedicure would last for 3 weeks but not this time. The manicure is worse, it started peeling the next day. It was waste of time and money and I would not recommend that place. They either changed the owners or employed stuff with no experience but it’s not the same service as in the past.

I have been looking for a nail salon like this for a very long time. If I could give 1,000 stars I would. I have many reasons why this salon outshines all the others. First, the pedicures last at least an hour and they don’t rush the service. So many salons just want you in and out of the chair and out the door. That is not what happens here. You are offered water and other complimentary drinks when you arrive and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The best part of the salon is Caroline who spends time making sure the shape, design, and feel are exactly what you want and she does an amazing job. My last full set I got lasted FOUR weeks with no chips or breakage of any kind. They looked exactly the same except with growth. They probably would have lasted longer but I needed them short again for work.
Often when I go to nail salons I never found consistency and it was always a 50/50 toss up if the nail tech could actually do what you want done based on an inspiration photo. Which is completely terrifying if you have an important event to attend. Caroline captures exactly what I want and I can’t wait to keep coming back to see what else she can do :) She’s a true artist! I recommend this salon 100%. Thank you for the service :)

My daughter-in-law and I had pedicures together at Akira to celebrate her birthday. We couldn't be happier with the results. Our toes are still twinkling a week later.
We had such a positive experience. The shop is bright and clean. The chairs comfy. The color selection vast. Caroline and Gary were welcoming hosts and answered all of our questions with good humor. Caroline's parents added a peaceful dignity.
We hope to return often.

I was very excited to go check this place out after moving to Edmonds and getting dip on my nails in Tacoma for 3+ years.
Unfortunately it was far from good. It took almost 40min just to remove the dip I had on my nails (while I was the one doing the though work of scrubbing them with acetone on a paper towel) and after the nails were “done” I asked if they could use the filing machine to smooth out the edges of the set. I was told “next time you can say that you want this because we charge extra”. I tried explaining that I didn’t mean having cuticles trimmed but it was in vain. And also that was already ONE AND A HALF hours long and I needed to leave. Not to mention that one person started my nails and another nail tech was finishing it, so the communication was not good.
To top it off, at the time of checkout I was informed that there was a 10$ charge for the dip removal… when I was the one doing the work. I was so tired it wasn’t even worth arguing.
They weren’t rude by any means but it was frustrating leaving the salon with my nails looking the way they did after 1h30 and paying 60$ for it.

Finally! A manicurist who uses the right bits for nails. Sometimes it's uncomfortable if proper care is not taken when old polish is removed but Caroline took her time. Her work is meticulous and so sharp. No risges, no icky or stickiness stuck between my nails or cuticles. Absolutely love the end result. I can't wait to go back with my daughter. Oh parking is easy to find. Interior decor is very cute. The salon is very clean.
