I rarely write reviews, but this experience deserves one.
On Monday between 5:45 and 6:30 PM, I was in the appliance section at Lowe’s, researching refrigerators and dishwashers on my phone—trying to learn more about the products on display. You can probably see me on video; meanwhile, the sales associate just 10 feet away was also on his phone and never once acknowledged me—not a greeting, not a glance, nothing.
Honestly, I couldn’t help but feel like he sized me up, saw that I’m Hispanic, and assumed I wasn’t going to make a purchase. If that’s not the case, it still felt that way. And that feeling stuck with me.
After nearly 30 minutes of being ignored, I decided enough was enough and headed to the nearest exit. The young lady at self-checkout greeted me warmly, so I stopped to thank her—and shared what happened in appliances. She assured me she’d pass the feedback along to a manager.
Yesterday I went to Home Depot in Snohomish, where I received stellar service and ended up purchasing an LG refrigerator and Bosch 500 dishwasher.
While my $3,000.00+ purchase might be small change to Lowe’s, this is about principle. I won’t spend my money where I’m not appreciated or valued.

The best Lowe's in Downtown Everett.

Lowe's is right down the road from my house and I've been able to find 90% on the stuff I need there. Still need to make the trek over to Big Orange a few times a year but for the most part, Lowe's is my go-to hardware store.

Buyer beware:
I strongly don’t recommend Everett, WA Lowe’s store for any kitchen cabinet design projects. My initial experience was a good one. My husband and I had started the project with a designer who was and had earned our trust and business with her excellent suggestions and obvious competence. Unfortunately, for personal reasons we needed to suspend the project. Once we were ready to proceed with the project, to our dismay the designer had been promoted to a different position in the company. A brand new designer, Dominic, had taken her place, and he let us know we were to be his first design customers. I appreciated his candor and Dominic was pleasant to work with. Since some of the design work was already complete, including installer measurements, combined with the fact Dominic was working with a specific CAD program and had another more experienced designer in the department he could direct questions to, we thought not too much could go wrong and so we decided to proceed. That was a mistake we came to regret.
It’s a long story, but the gist of it is that Dominic hadn’t had nearly enough training or supervision to attempt a kitchen design without making mistakes. As it turns out, Dominic was rarely partnered with the more experienced designer so he could shadow her. When it came time for design approval, I questioned Dominic about the measurements (with the other designer present), reminding him that they needed to fit in the existing kitchen footprint. Based on his assurances it did, I approved the design. To be clear, is the DESIGNER’S job to check the design against the installers measurements, not mine. I didn’t even have a copy of the installers measurements. Well obviously he didn’t check this. And he made this mistake not just once, but twice, even AFTER my husband and I pointed out the major discrepancy. At this point plumbing that couldn’t be moved had been set up based on his design drawings. My husband and I sent a day of ours lives pulling up kitchen flooring and redoing it so it fit the new footprint of the kitchen. The cabinet design had to also be modified. After waiting weeks for the new cabinets, their replacements had particle board sides instead of hardwood. We spent $25,000 on high-quality Schuller cabinets. They are advertised as hardwood and stated as such in our sales receipt, but since they were “accommodations” on the part of the manufacturer, they sent cheaper versions. So I spent three very stressful months washing dishes in my bathroom sink and attempting to cook meals on a stove with no counters. We were able to get one wall of cabinets installed, but had to wait to complete the install until the replacement cabinets arrived. Low scores for poor levels communication. If you want attention to get anything corrected you must repeatedly show up in person. The store manager was extremely difficult to get ahold of. After repeated efforts, my husband spoke with him and he told him that there was nothing he could do about our dissatisfaction with our experience. I’ve been a retail store manager. In my experience, that is part of their job responsibility. What gives Lowe’s really?!!! So my husband leveled up, our complaint, sending it in writing with photos, asking for a discount. He was offered a $25 gift card!!! Sooo disappointed in Lowe’s for not caring about their customers experience and throwing new employees out onto the sales flooring before they’re ready to handle complex and costly projects.
I hope some potential customers can learn from our disappointing and frustrating experience!

Truth be told I hate this place. I give 2 stars for having parking and some brands you might want... forget ryobi and forget any common switch or breaker in your house they all came from home depot and carry a different brand than Lowes.

Every single time I go to this Lowes I get the help I'm looking for, and quickly. Things are more often than not in stock, unlike other big box stores. The store is clean and well organized.
I wanted to give a special review for my last trip. Dale and Shelia went so far above and beyond in helping me and they did it with smiles and shared laughs. Not one drop of "I hate my job" energy. From getting a ladder, to checking out, to loading my vehicle, these two were awesome. I very much appreciate their kindness and service with smiles. I'm looking forward to seeing them and asking for help again soon.
