“APR-18-2023: Sit back and relax. I have a story of life for you. I won't mention suicide, drugs, or abortion; there is a brief mention of shopping cart abuse, however. This little bit of writing is supposed to be fun or funny or something like that. If you can't see that, then I have some advice for you at the end. Or stop reading now. Your choice!I've lived in Silver Firs since 1996. This store was built around the turn of the millennium. It's hard to believe, but this store has been a consistently a remarkable store for all that time.Packaged stuff is fine, and the prices seem OK to me, but I'm not too picky on price. I value quality above all else. And I can find packaged stuff anywhere. Here are the delighters for me: I like to shop for the triple B's: Booze, Bakery, and the Bunches of produce, especially the Bunches of produce. There is so much goodness here that I can't take it all in. The apples are amazing! I can't wait for the peaches this year. Last year's crop was so good! If I don't know what to do with a plantain yet, then that's MY problem. I like the deli too (but... it doesn't start with a B, so...) When I want a Rueben sandwich, this is where I get my meat and cheese. Be sure to get the Jewish Rye bread and the Dijon mustard. OMG! Delicious! Oh! And I always get my Parmesan cheese here at that little walk-around case, too.Today I also bought some cool BBQ gear. (Hey, another B!)I think this staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, etc. I personally know that dealing with "the public" is challenging sometimes. I used to do volunteer work and I took so much abuse from "entitled" people who just want it fixed... NOW! When I asked for "a little help, buddy, because you know, it is a volunteer thing..." Nope! That's everyone's cue to disappear. It's just human nature to be inhumane. When someone is humane, the world lights up beautifully. So, I've been there myself. These folks are really nice. They are "soldiers of niceness". They could work at Disneyland.I admit that there are some things I always buy at a specialty store, like seafood and beef. I'm too picky in these departments. You know, sustainable, organic, humane, and harvested only on the Sunday after the first full moon after a volcanic eruption, etc. Just ask any critter or fish. I'm big on that. I can't bear the idea of boiling a live crab. I just can't do it.For everything else, I am happy to buy at this Safeway. I like to think of this store as "my store". So, I take care of it like I would my own house. I'd like to teach the public on how to return carts to the cart return. It really is possible and obscenely easy to stack them nicely with the big carts on one side and the little carts on the other side. But does the public do this. No. The public practices cart abuse every day!I'm sorry some folks feel differently about the store folks. It goes both ways. Some customer folks are not very good with store folks too. The world is not perfect. Some humans are good with other people, some humans are just not very good people and so on and so forth. Some people are tired, or they have worries, or they are just bored out of their minds and look forward to a change. Some people don't floss their teeth. I've smelled that. Haven't you, dog breath?Early on in my development as a human being, I bought a cucumber at this store. I went thru self-checkout. Something went wrong. A staff member fixed it and I left. When I got home, I had an email from my bank that said I'd spent more than $100 at Safeway just now. I looked at my receipt. The staff person had entered a quantity of 92 cucumbers into the register. I went back and got it fixed. Then I got heated and called the manager. The manager asked if the staff member corrected it, and I said yes. At that moment I realized what a prick I was. Now I laugh at little things like this. This is not a problem. This is just life! Once ”

“I shop her in the evenings which is just fine and less crowded. You may have to walk a long way to get help or have a question answered. If your in the back by linens. Or paint.... one reason for the 4 stars. The other reason is finding pricing on sale items may not be clearly marked. Or no price at all. So does the Fred Meyer app allow you to scan barcodes for pricing? That would be great. When you do get the help they are usuAlly friendly but lacking knowledge of products. Not their fault if they do not get training. At least they try to find another employee who might know the answer. Like I said it just takes time. The cashiers are friendly for the most part. I think they just need more help and more CS training. The one thing that always makes me feel so much pressure is the count down time announcements. Just before they close. Sometime it makes me feel like they should actually close a half hour prior to closing time with what feels threatening when they say the doors will be locked.... yelling at you to bring all purchases to register before the doors are locked. I want the staff to get out on time too. I get it. Maybe sending staff out to help customers find that last item instead of 2 or 3 employees standing together to unlock or open the door when you leave. Or 2-3 by. Customer service chatting it up. This is just my observation. I’ve recently starting shop ping there during the covid months and I’m greatfull they stayed open later than most stores. I recently noticed one of the last customers to leave theStore and when I got to my car noticed I didn’t have one of my storage containers that I bought.ooShowed my receipt to door employee who did let me back in. Cashier was still there but acted like it was my fault but said I could go get another one. Not even offering to get it for me or asking one of the, by now, 6-7 employees standing right at front registers chatting. Why wasn’t it still right there? She obviously knew she didn’t put it in my bag... so I’d think she’d still have it right there knowing I’d return asking for it. Things that make you go hmmm?”

“Very friendly staff. Didn't know of the perc's business owners receive when it comes to cashing checks but the discount was reassuring. With Banks closing at 5 or 6pm everywhere Money Tree saved the day with their convenient decreased fee they offered me when cashing my mid evening check. Thank you to the staff for making things simple and easy. Bring proof of income, ID business license to keep things moving along if you're a business owner hoping to cash a check. They were able to verify my business online which was super convenient considering I didn't have my UBI # with me. THANK YOU MONEY TREE”

“I've never had an issue when it comes to getting my medication. At times it seems they could add more urgency when first being helped but I can't speak on what they have to do on their end. Do any of y'all need love? A shoulder to lean on? Cause y'all sound miserable over the phone and in person. I appreciate y'all ! :-)”

“Extremely friendly and courteous staff! I had placed an order online and came by for a grocery pickup last week. The first thing I loved was how many time slots they had available! Many places often don't have availability for the next few days, but Walmart at Everett had one for the very next day. As I was having a party, most of my order included different types of wines. What I didn't realize was that Washington state law requires pickup orders with alcohol to have a minimum of $25 of non-alcoholic purchases as well - especially since my order went through online. However, when I got to the location, the staff had to unfortunately inform me of this rule and why they couldn't give me the wine. Was it frustrating? Yes. But was it their fault? Absolutely not. That's corporate's fault for not incorporating local laws into their system. The staff at this location were nice enough to give me the option to fully cancel and refund my order, but I decided to take the non-alcoholic portion of my order anyway. While my experience for that order wasn't great, I really appreciate the staff doing its best to make it as positive as possible. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend this location and will be back - just not for pickups with alcohol.”

“Today 6/12/22, my sister called and then stopped in, to retrieve cash I sent to her through MoneyGram, through Walmart's app. She had called and drove to five area Walmarts, all for them to tell her that no one working was able to help her. It is beyond why all managers, aren't trained to do customer service duties like MoneyGram's. The last Walmart she stopped at, they had turned five customers away, because lack of the management not knowing how to do the MoneyGram transactions. Thank you DKJ, we will be back for future business!!”

“Took less than five minutes to complete transaction. I used to WU site to fill in most of my info and finished the rest in the store. The staff was friendly and very helpful.”
