I'm a long-time member of West Coast Armory in Factoria, which is unaffiliated with WCA North. We recently moved and I thought I'd check out WCA North. it only took a few minutes to see how different the two places are. WCA down in Factoria is clean, big, well-run, well-ventilated, and pleasant to visit. WCA North is none of these things. The staff is fine - very friendly & professional. It's the facility that's the problem - It's crowded: people were walking all over the place behind me while I was in a booth, shooting. Very cramped feeling. Much smaller than WCA in Factoria. It's dirty: the booths had stuff from previous shooters laying all over; there were thousands of shell casings in front of the shooting booths - it must have been weeks since the simple duty of sweeping them up was performed. It's poorly ventilated: At WCA Factoria, you don't smell gunpowder in the range. Great ventilation. At WCA North, the smell is pervasive in the booths. Gross, and no doubt very unhealthy. It's not a pleasant atmosphere: I walked out after only about 20 minutes -having driven a long way, expecting to see the WCA quality I'd become accustomed to, and completely disappointed when seeing the reality of WCA North. Bottom line, if you want a good experience, go to the Factoria store. I'll never go back to the North store.

Haven't shot at an indoor range in 20 years. But decided to give it a try yesterday. I don't understand the trouble other reviewers have with watching a 7 minute video. I can only imagine the scrutiny an indoor range is under, and the insurance they must have to carry. It was all simple enough, and we were shooting in no time. Was very pleased with overall experience, and will definitely be back.

Okay so I was a little skeptical regarding the newest post about this gun range. Turns out that it is true, you have to watch a video on a computer and sign a waiver….like what world are these people living in where they don’t want business or customers. Treat your military customers with a more understanding mindset and your business will grow. We all have 24hrs in a day but how we manage it is different.

Receptionist heard that we came to practice shooting. He made us watch the safety video first, then had us sign waivers and share personal data to register us, then said that we cannot enter the range without buying the membership, then checked IDs then asked some theory questions and then started selling their classes for $115 saying that we are not allowed to the range without the class. If we didn't qualify for any reason to shoot receptionist should have said that in the very beginning and reject us. No, he wasted whole bunch of our time, set the expectation that we can be allowed after all procedures and then still rejected us at the end.Worst experience.

The safety process/procedures for people to use the shooting range seem minimal. Over the weekend I was using the range and had a stranger that was self described as a new to firearms user point his gun at me while his finger was on the trigger. He was fidgeting with the firearm and did not even know he was pointing it at my chest until I said something. There is not enough range staff to monitor was is taking place in the shooting areas and it is way too easy for someone to show up with a firearm and little to no safety sense and put others in danger. From my perspective, this is dangerous.

I’ve experienced some real douche gun store folks out there that feel the need to flex or puff out their chests to feel important by being condescending to customers, so I was a little apprehensive when I came in to purchase a handgun because of previous experiences at other shops. As someone new to handguns, I’ve never been made to feel “less than” because of my lack of experience and knowledge, nor have I read that in the body language of any staff members. The same goes for training courses. Chad and John are both stellar and patient instructors full of knowledge and experience. It’s obvious they care about their students. The courses are organized and put together in a way that’s easy to follow and participate in. My only criticism is the frigid conditions in the range during live fire training. The cold temps make the grouping on my target look like Stevie Wonder was shooting at it.Thank you to the staff for making me feel welcome and most importantly, safe! I know I’m in good hands when I’m there.

Recently bought a new firearm with these guys, they were very polite and willing to listen to my questions with knowledgeable answers. I went in on the day before thanksgiving they were closing early and I didn’t realize until I was already in there. There was 30 minutes before close of business and Chris gets me in and out with time to spare. I will be returning for all my future purchases.

I was joined by 2 of my family members to find something fun to do while visiting. We found this place, thinking it would be a fun activity to try. When we got there, we made it clear we were new and asked for directions on how we could shoot. The elderly man behind the counter rushed us to a computer for educational training and registration. After which, he said "you cannot shoot here if you did not bring a gun." This was a total waste of 30 minutes which could have been avoided. Clearly, he was making a mockery of us.

The staff , management, and owner aren't what they used to be. They refuse to help with basic gun maintenance, they refuse to sell parts even though it's legal. Thier range safety master is meaner and ruder than he needs to be. The atmosphere was tense and unfriendly. I'm very disappointed because the other West Coast Armory in Bellingham still does and sells most every thing they've always done. So why the difference? It's cowardice and fear for standing for the people and our rights. It's lack of concern for armed citizens that need help. I will never return to this shop / range.

Poor service. Limited selection. Value is in being a FFL and the closest shooting range.
