This morning I was walking by the Ace Hardware in Ferndale WA where I was visiting for the Day . I had just asked the universe to guide me to some kind of Backpack light for my long community walks that often occur near sunset or rainy conditions . I entered this cheerful bursting store + took a slow stroll thru a few aisles just to see if some small thing was useful there . I loved their wide variety of items that looked like great value . On the sporting aisle I found it! A tiny led bicycle light made of a bright neon waterproof soft jelly Clip on Case!
I was so excited since I was already on a walk ~ it's like Christmas came early today ! Maybe I'll buy a few later for Stocking stuffers .
ACE always feels welcoming + you it feels great knowing how easily they can find any item for you, not like big box stores where Staff often don't .
Thank you Ferndale ACE ...I'll be using my led light every week!

They have a lot on hand but not as much as the larger chains. They are great for quick pick ups but a lit pricey. I am glad there are a few close by when we have projects.

TLDR: Employees tried letting my stuff get stolen and even putting my stuff in harms way, overpriced and rude employees
Both me and my partner dont have a car and are required to walk or bike around, meaning to carry our stuff we need backpacks.
We went there just to find a single screw and the employees demanded we leave our backpacks at the front of the store, out in the open, with no protection from theft.
As someone whos shopped there before they tend to be overpriced as well and the staff are always disrespectful.
The absolute lack of care for my and my partners stuff is unacceptable and frankly disgusting. I understand its to prevent theft but my stuff should not be at more risk of being stolen than anything in that stupid store.
never shopping there again.

These guys are great. Not only are they helpful to a degree that heavily outweighs what the radio jingle would even lead you to believe, but they have time and again been able to come thru clutch when I've needed some small, obscure part that I didn't think I'd be able to find without going to Bellingham or online. As an added bonus, they're vocally and unapologetically anti-dirtbag, taking on a very vocal and forward approach to calling out thieves. They don't tolerate it, as they shouldn't. It's nice to see a business that isn't afraid to ruffle some sensitive feathers in order to protect themselves, and by proxy their customers, from the dregs of society that are out doing harm to local businesses. Glad to have Ace in Ferndale.

This lttle, not so little, hardware store has a great selection and will practically have anything that you may need to work on your house or any project that you have a mind. I find myself going there quite lot for those hard to find pieces.

A frustrating experience for me this trip. Placed an online order saying it was in store for pick up and when I arrived it was not at the store it was at an offsite warehouse. Cancelled the order and bought what I wanted elsewhere.

I know I'm going To have a comfortable and rewarding experience if i head into the Ferndale Ace Hardware Store. The employees are obviously vetted well for their positions. Staff has been nothing but knowledgeable, kind, and eager to help find solutions. 25 stars!!

Went to return an item, was not sure on the return policy and simply asked if i could return. One associate said yes and started the return. Then another walked over and proceeded to be condescending and say we do not make a habit of taking returns on items people use as rentals. I have never returned a used item, so this was an unwarranted and rude comment. Spend your money at Home Depot or Lowe’s.
