Fox Island Fishing Pier is a nice spot to wet a line or just chill out. There’s usually ample parking. Lots of grassy areas, picnic tables and well maintained pathways that lead to the fishing pier. There is a handicap/ADA compliant cement pathway from the parking lot to the pier. The pier is t-shaped. In the distance is the Narrows Bridge, as well as marine views of Tacoma, University Place and Chambers Creek. I imagine the fishing isn’t too bad under the right conditions. The pier is a local gem appreciated by the Fox Island community.

more of a viewing pier than fishing. wish they would have extended the switch-back trail to the beach, instead of steap trail behind bathrooms. only one picnic table.

There on a beautiful day and followed the tide out. Plenty of sea-stars and other sea critters to be found. We didn't fish, so I can't tell you how that was....

Nice walk to the pier. Ramps, and ramp walkways for impaired persons. Great views across the sound. If you go to fish, then be conscious of the tides. The Northeast corner catches the current well, and it brings the fish in near.

Special little park and fishing pier. Easy parking. Steep access to the pier via stairs or paved switchback pathway.
Spanning views of the Tacoma narrows bridge.
Public beach access. Check the tide.
The beach facing Gig Harbor is marked private with large metal signs.
That is a real shame, and the property owners of Fox Island should be embarrassed.
Beaches are a gift to be shared everywhere with everyone.

Beautiful park and concrete pier overlooking the Narrows. I saw porpoises while there. Orcas pass close to the pier often. Hawks, water birds, and eagles.
Of course fishing is allowed. But no jumping or diving off the pier. There is one picnic table and benches on the pier.
It has great parking and nice restrooms. And a no-stairs option for wheel chair accessibility from the parking lot to the pier.
Washington State Department of Wildlife built the pier, parking, pathways, and restrooms in 1995.
In 2004 the people of Fox Island and Gig Harbor Peninsula took ownership of the Park.

The parking lot is nice and everything is very handicap accessible. There is a nice ramp that goes all the way down to the fishing pier or you can take a series of steps down. Either way, it's a nice walk down to the pier. There is a beautiful view of the Tacoma Narrows bridge and on a clear day, an amazing view of Mt.Rainier. Enjoy the views of various wildlife including sea lions, otters, orcas, dolphins, and various birds. Every now and then a train passes by on the other side, which makes for an awesome picture of the mountain is out, too. Also, look for a few tug boats and barges every now and then. The pier is really nice and has ample seating areas to enjoy lunch or relax while your bait soaks. Overall, a nice place to relax with a beautiful view!
