Friday Harbor Marine are amazing. They are pleasant, helpful, fair and honest... Everything you hope for in a mechanic and business.
Two years ago, I accidentally dunked our outboard in salt water off Orcas island, and they were the first to pick up when calling and said they'd find time to help if we could get to Friday Harbor. Later in the afternoon, they came to the marina picked up our outboard and the next afternoon it was back and running as good as new. Best of all, they charged a fair price for the service and for the pickup/delivery/priority.
Just recently, after I didn't keep up with winter service, our outboard was running rough and we once again found ourselves in Friday Harbor. A quick call later got some troubleshooting advice and recommendations which included changing our spark plugs. Walked up to the store, bought new plugs, installed them and we are running great again. While I'm certain other businesses may have recommended a full service and perhaps booked a few more hours, they gave me just the help & advice I needed, and actually had the special parts in stock.
A truly excellent business. Can't wait until they open a branch in the Seattle area. Until then, we'll look forward to working with them whenever I have mechanical needs in the San Juans.

Beautiful, clean marina in charming, historic Friday Harbor. We were here on the off season and had easy moorage. This place is well lit at night and feels very safe. The showers were great (and clean). I used an app to pay for my 7 minute shower (I timed myself at 3 minutes, including shampoo and conditioner). We'll be back as we grow our sea legs.

Super helpful and knowledgeable folks. We needed a Volvo Penta part and they happened to have it in stock and were super helpful. We lucked out on part, but I would recommend them for any Vovlo Penta questions in the San Juans.

Steering went out at the start of our San Juan trip. These guys were amazing with their responsiveness and service. Came out the morning we called, ordered the part overnight from Florida and came back the following afternoon to do the repair. Technician was super nice and friendly. We limped into Friday Harbor after a cooling problem with one of our engines. Tony was down at the harbor minutes after we pulled in and determined the problems immediately. He had us fixed very quickly and took a short sea trial to ensure everything was OK. Not often in life do you have a perfect experience (especially with boat repairs), but this was one. Super knowledgeable about our older engines and we now have a trustworthy, go-to marine mechanic. THANK YOU Gary and Tony.Services: General repairs & maintenance

Called from the POFH on Father's Day and received a prompt response. Matt, a great technician was at our boat bright and early Monday. Very professional and competent.
