It's a nice place to stay for the basics. We mainly slept and had our morning coffee here. The place is more rustic than I would prefer but the price was right. The host was accommodating for our late arrival, which was nice. The neat part was the balcony overlooking the street during the day and evening. The downside is we visited during a hot spell. There is no A/C; major bummer. There was one portable fan but insufficient for all three sleeping areas. Late night and/or early morning there are some loud trucks (trash?) that pass through; they will briefly wake you. The coffee pot pours water through before it's heated. If you have multiple guests, a mirror would be nice outside the bathroom. Why four stars? I would stay here again, and be prepared for the inconveniences. I love the location. There are restaurants, literally next-door, and across the street and all the great shops are within walking distance.

This was a great place to stay in Friday Harbor. Very comfortable and spacious lodging, including a great balcony and a convenient mini-kitchen (microwave only). We'd get a latte and baked goods from the cafe across the street, and enjoy breakfast on the balcony. Very convenient to everything in Friday Harbor. I'd definitely stay here again!

We got lucky and got a room last minute, suite 2. We are a family of 3 and it was perfect for us! Right in the middle of everything in town so we could walk everywhere. Very spacious , and has a kitchenette. The manager was super friendly and informative on what to do and where to go. I would totally stay here againðŸ˜.thank you !

What a treasure to be able to stay in the heart of Friday Harbor, being just minutes from downtown and walking distance from everything you need. We highly recommend this sweet spot.

My Husband, toddler and I had the most wonderful stay in the smaller suite over New Year's! Of course the Island was wonderful and quiet, but the rooms were very cozy and comfortable. The heaters worked well, the shower was great, small fridge and microwave was available. I also met the owner who was very kind and pleasant. We will be back, and this has become our go to for Friday Harbour visits.

What a great find! This place is so clean, comfortable and peaceful. You are close to everything: the best restaurants, laundry mat, grocery store, and shopping. The owner is also very sweet and helpful with her suggestions of places to go. We found a new favorite place to stay when visiting Friday Harbor.

Four of us rented both apartments for a 3 night stay. The larger of the apartments is very spacious and well equipped although it could use some updating. This suite has two bedrooms but the only bath is off of the smaller of the 2 bedrooms. A family would find this OK, but 2 couples could feel a bit worried about disturbing their friends in the middle of the night. There are no doors on the bedrooms, just drapes. I found the beds to be too hard for my comfort and borrowed comforters to soften it a bit. The smaller of the suites also has two bedrooms but again no doors. The TV in this suite is a 12' box TV best suited for a museum. Flat screens are so inexpensive, I wonder why this hasn't been replaced. Nichols Street Suites is very convenient to all the sites in Friday Harbor including some lovely restaurants nearby. Our host, Annie, was friendly and very helpful.

We recently stayed here for four nights and it worked out perfectly for us. The location was great, just a block off the main street but with enough going on nearby that we enjoyed sitting out on the porch to do some people watching. Annie and Mike couldn't have been nicer and accommodating. They told us to treat it as our place but to let them know if we needed anything at all. Annie is a very good artist as well.

I would highly recommend the Nichols Suites to stay in. The suites are above the Funk and Junk Antique store owned by the Michael and Annie who are very sweet and accommodating. The suites are spacious and have a wonderful deck where you can sit and people watch. The suites are very clean and decorated beautifully with a lot of art work done by Annie. They are across the street from one of the best restaurants and it is just minutes to walk to the waterfront where most of the shops and more restaurants are.

Very comfortable and cute little apartment above an antique store. Just 2 quick blocks from the ferry and grocery store. Directly across the street from a great bakery and restaurant, lots of other restaurants and Saturday farmer's market close by. No kitchen - just a microwave, mini-fridge and sink. Nice balcony overlooking the street. A fair amount of street noise at 6:30 a.m. - garbage trucks, delivery trucks, etc. Otherwise peaceful and quiet. Owner's original artwork was a nice bonus.

Super nice for the price! We came in winter and paid 135.00 for the smaller suite (suite 2). It was charming and clean. The owner was very kind and waited for us to get off the ferry! The view of the area from the porch is great and the location is perfect. Right in Friday Harbor, 0.4 miles from the ferry. A must stay.

I took a last minute trip to Friday Harbor, San Juan Island and came across one of the few openings at Nichols Street Suites. What a gem! There are 2 suites located above the antique store. I spent 1 night in Suite 1. -2 bedrooms plus a futon, so a capacity of 6 guests. -Full size kitchen with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffeepot, toaster, dishware/silverware. There is an amazing antique butcher block island for preparing foods. -Back deck with a BBQ. Not much of a view, but you do get a glimpse of the water -Large living area with TV/VCR, books, board games -Large U-shaped bench with dining room table that the whole family could easily sit around -One full size bathroom -They had a pack and play for my baby to sleep in Suite 2 is smaller but has a front balcony overlooking the street. If I were to make very few improvements (and really none were needed), I would (1) supply come coffee for guests and (2) add some weather stripping to the back deck door - we heard the wind howling through the crack in the door all night. The staff who work in the antique store and provide the keys, etc. were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They have wifi, but it is slow, which is not uncommon for most places on the island. There is 1 parking spot next to the antique store. Cost came to around $170 / night including taxes. I would definitely stay here again. Doesn't have the spectacular view, but the living space is great and you are still on the main strip.
