This place is all about the community. The coaches and owners are welcoming and accepting, of all levels of fitness. I have been apart of this gym since 2012. I'm so thankful for the leadership, and passion for building functional strength and fitness. I love my "Gym" family. This place is the best!!

I came to Crossfit GH nearly 10 years ago as an athlete without direction. It was my first year competing in the professional ranks as a Downhill Mountain biker and I was training like a total amateur. I reached out to David explaining my goals as an athlete and the sport-specific training needs that came with the rigors of Mountain Biking. He accepted me into his gym with open arms and accelerated my training beyond anything I had experienced. Breaking the mold was hard, but I soon learned accountability through my attendance and was given the mental strength needed for the challenging hurdles of my sport.Soon my results started to speak for the training as I secured podium finishes and solidified sponsorships that have lasted year after year. Since then I have not only found my place as a professional athlete, but have been given the leadership tools to start my own team and give back to riders who are starting their professional careers. I now manage 3 elite level riders under what is now one of the top Downhill programs in the Country. Success that I truly believe stemmed from my first meeting with David a decade ago.David has been more than just a coach to me. He is one of my greatest mentors and a dear friend. The care that he puts into training all of his athletes is unquestioned. He is truly there to guide us not only in the gym but in life. If you are looking for a home to test yourself mentally and physically all while building lasting relationships with like minded athletes, look no further. Crossfit GH is one of a kind.- Matt Orlando

I’ve been a part of Crossfit Gig Harbor for 6-7 years now. I started working out here in my 8th grade year, and now I’m currently going into my second year in college. So you could say I’ve grown up in this gym. Being apart of this community has been very special to me and has taught me a lot of life lessons and have made friendships to last a lifetime. Not only have they taught how to lift with correct form but also how to take care of my body over a lifetime. They have prepared me for life. I got the wonderful opportunity of not only working out here but interning as well. As an intern I got to see what it takes to coach a class. There are so many factors that go into leading a class and I learned so much from that experience. The coaches are wonderful, they are friendly and make you want to come back for more even though you are sore.

After training here over the last 5 years, I honestly have nothing bad to say about this gym. Great coaches, great community and great workouts. The training always feels fresh due to new regimens or movements being introduced. Can’t wait to come back and train.

Crossfit Gig Harbor is great! My family and I have been coming here for several years now and our level of fitness has never been better. As a firefighter the workouts help me stay in great shape so that I can do my job better every day.

CrossFit Gig Harbor isn’t simply 4 walls closing in free weights, treadmills, and obligatory flexing mirrors. Coaches take the time to get to know you and your body while classmates enfold you into the community founded on good people and healthy lifestyles. After only a few months at the gym, coaches became my big brothers, classmates became my close friends, and I became a better version of myself. While CFGH prepared my body for high school and college sports, it also boosted my confidence and mental toughness to see challenges through. I cannot recommend this gym and family highly enough.

I have been a part of CrossFit Gig Harbor for about 8 years now. I first walked into the gym when I was about to start 7th grade, and from that day forward I have reaped the benefits that the gym has provided. Not only has CrossFit made me a better athlete, but it has taught me and my family how to live a healthy lifestyle that I strive to achieve everyday. Now that I am a college student, I know how to make smarter choices when it comes to what to eat and how to exercise. I will forever be grateful for the coaching staff at the gym for all that I have learned over the year and the constant push to be the best person I can be.

Crossfit Gig Harbor has been home to my family and I for over 8 years strong. Crossfit Gig Harbor has not only physically changed my life but has impacted my life with the relationships created and the people met. CFGH is home to amazing athletes and amazing human beings. Everyone is always supportive of everyone else, no matter your ability level. The greatest part is training with people of all ages and backgrounds. The coaches are some of the most genuine people you will ever meet and will always exceed your expectations. If you are looking for a way to get fit, a family, a home, stress relief, or just some genuine people that you can see for an hour a day, Crossfit Gig Harbor is for you.

I recommend this gym. I visited here for a 3 week trip and used this Crossfit as my gym during that time. Great combination of crossfit and the underground which I would describe as cardio conditioning(I loved it!). I wish I had these at home: I felt that my fitness improved from my training here. The coaches were good, and the owner took the time to explain the gym to me while I was doing my research on places to workout.

I really didn't want to do crossfit. I had a very specific image of what it was in my mind and I didn't like it. ESPECIALLY not in gig harbor. Nope. I really just wanted to get into better shape for snowboarding. But, alas, here I find myself almost 3 years later, writing a review about how this place totally changed my life.
When we first started coming here it was very intimidating. People were in such great shape, and so intense! but through the intensity this community drives everyone to be better and not give up when things get hard. Crossfit is as much if not more a mental game than it is a physical one. About a year into working out at this gym, I started looking into volunteering as a firefighter. This gym is home to more firefighters, police officers and military (plus some seriously badass civilians) than I could have imagined when I started. Everyone was not only supportive with my desire to get into shape but very helpful in finding ways to go about volunteering.
About 6 months into volunteering, I realized I really loved what I was doing and I wanted to make it my career. Again, I turned to this rad community with questions on how to be better and what I should do, and received nothing but amazing support (as well as brutally honest truths about how hard this was going to be.) I got help with interviews, workouts I could do to get more upper body and grip strength, and badass dudes and chicks driving me through workouts to make me tougher.
I'm about 6 months into my probationary year now as a career firefighter and every day is a battle that I absolutely love. It's gritty, it's physical, it's dirty, it's exhausting, and its the best thing ever. I KNOW for a fact that this gym, this community, and the brutally honest amazing coaches, especially David and Trevor, are a huge part of the reason I've gotten to where I am today. I'm stronger physically, but almost more importantly, I KNOW I can get through anything by staying positive and pushing through the pain.
Because yeah, it hurts. and it sucks. You can bring whatever you want- your fancy shoes, weight belts, whatever you need to get through it. Just don't bring your excuses- they'll get crushed right along with your soul.
Please come give it a try. If you come in with an open mind, you'll find whatever it is you're looking to find in yourself.

I walked in over four years ago and knew almost immediately this was the place for me. The focus on technique versus strength was invaluable for my fitness goals. I am stronger now at 46 than I was at 26...this of course took an appropriate amount of time to accomplish but my body is healthy and strong as opposed to being worn out or broken. David has created a gym that is constantly looking to evolve for everyone's level of fitness regardless of their age or lifestyle. Simply show up and do the work...everything else will follow.
I should also mention that I have been a police officer for over 20 years. My schedule is all over the place. Crossfit Gig Harbor has been extremely flexible in allowing me to pop in whenever I can. This has allowed me to maintain a high degree of physical fitness, while also providing a safe place to release stress. It is truly some of the best physical and mental therapy around.

I first came to CrossFit Gig Harbor eight and a half years ago to look for strength training for my athlete daughter. Very soon, the head coach challenged me in a very personal way, with the question: "What about you?" Many moms put themselves very last. David saw this in me, and invited me to change it. Fast forward to the present: By sticking with CrossFit all of these years, I have achieved strength and health goals for myself that I didn't even have the capacity to conceive of all those years ago. Approaching my mid-50s, I can do things that were completely out of my reach as a teenager. Yes, I'm about 30 pounds less on the scale, but I am so much stronger, physically, mentally and emotionally. Our entire adult family calls this gym our community. We love getting healthier and challenging ourselves there, and we love the people who gather at CrossFit Gig Harbor to do the same.

My brother and I joined Crossfit Gig Harbor over seven years ago and it changed our lives for the better. I had no idea that lifting weights and working out could bring so many great people together from all walks of life. I’ve worked out along side my little brother day in and day out and have been able to create a bound that not many siblings have. We’ve grown together and fallen together, but the coaching staff has always helped us continue to climb to where we want to be. Crossfit Gig Harbor is more than just a gym. It is a community coming together trying to achieve the same goal. The goal of pushing ourselves to be the best we can be every day. I learned from the first day I walked in the door of Crossfit Gig Harbor that anything can be achieved with hard work. I believed in the workout on the board each day as a kid and they helped me make the varsity softball team all four years of high school and start each game. I learned the meaning of hard work and dedication in the gym, but also how it applied to my everyday life outside our little home. Now as I begin my senior year of college as college starter for PLU Softball while trying to purse my bachelors in nursing, I couldn’t be more happy with the foundation and skills I’ve learned and built while being apart of Crossfit Gig Harbor. I’m beyond grateful for the confidence I’ve gained and the ability to overcome the stigma that woman face everyday. Strong is beautiful and I couldn’t recommend Crossfit Gig Harbor enough to all young girls or to anyone looking to start a journey of getting stronger with the best adopted family out there.
