The Galaxy Theater Gig Harbor IMAX was a pretty nice theater, at one time. While I was there, I couldn’t help but notice that it was well staffed but dirty, as though they ran out of trash bags or garbage containers to put all the empty popcorn boxes and gigantic drink cups away. The IMAX theater itself was huge, of course and we had pretty good seats. The seats were extra large loungers but they're worn out, so I felt like the little kid at the adult table who gets a giant chair to sit in where he can’t quite reach the table. Another thing I noticed was the projection. Projection of an IMAX film is very important because an IMAX film is shot with special cameras and it takes a lot of extra care to give you the best possible experience, but I couldn’t help but notice that there was discoloration when there was a white background, almost like rainbows. Most of the time, however, the screen looked just fine, but I couldn’t help but notice the rainbows because when there was white light on the screen. The sound is excellent and frankly, we hadn’t been to a movie since Rocketman was released in 2019. Overall, not a bad experience. The parking lot is a bit of a postage stamp and they don’t have enough disabled parking. My wife was hoping they would have drink service in the theater, but apparently that is not offered in the IMAX theater and alcohol is banned beyond a certain point.

Wow large theater with big screens and nice seats. Different types of movie experiences from IMAX to DFX luxury seats plus Redliners where you can drink alcohol. Not to sure about that with young kids and all but I haven't heard of any issues so they must be doing it right! Movies have gotten pretty expensive so if your gonna put out might as well get the best we did and really enjoyed ourselves!!

Very clean and comfortable! The screen was crystal clear. I went to the 5X. the sound was outstanding. If I lived closer, this would be my go to theater.

Can’t bring alcohol purchases into IMAX movies, they advertise all kinds of food and drink options but the website doesn’t have a food/drink menu to review. The menu in the theater is a the tv screens with rolling clips of drinks or food so it’s like watching old school tv guide channel as you wait to see food options again and then it’s gone super fast. If I didn’t have to pay a toll to leave Gig Harbor I would choose a different theater in Tacoma.

Great theater. Good food, excellent selection. The recliners are almost too comfortable. Projection quality and sound system are very good.
