I had what I thought was going to be a nightmare of a problem but it was handled so smoothly by Marquis (hope I spelled that right) a manager at the Gig Harbor store. I can’t tell you how easy he made this for me. Home Depot’s lucky to have him!!

Absolutely unacceptable experience.
I used to shop at Home Depot quite often, mostly in-store, and had made just one online order before, which went smoothly. But my second online order turned into a nightmare.
I urgently needed a nailer for a time-sensitive project, so I went to the store and asked a sales associate about ongoing promotions (Milwaukee almost always runs some kind of deal). The associate told me there were no promotions in-store, but maybe online. Sure enough, I found a better offer online: slightly cheaper, came with safety glasses, and had free next-day delivery. I placed the order.
On the delivery day, I got a message saying the item couldn’t be delivered. I double-checked the address and contacted the shipping company (OnTrac)—which was not easy. I had to re-enter the same info multiple times, and despite days of trying, I never got a clear response. Five days passed. I called Home Depot. Getting through the automated system was exhausting, only to reach a human who still couldn’t see any details in their system (thanks to Home Depot’s garbage software). They asked me to dig up a bunch of order info buried in promotional emails. And then told me they couldn't help.
After several calls, one rep said they’d reach out to the shipping company. Suddenly, the tracking updated with a new delivery date—finally! I waited all day. Nothing came. Not even four hours later. More useless chatbot conversations with OnTrac. More angry calls to Home Depot (one over an hour long). Then finally—hope! A representative told me I could pick up the item from a nearby store. I confirmed multiple times which location. It made sense—this nailer and glasses were in stock at most stores.
I drove to the Gig Harbor location. The pickup desk told me it was impossible. They couldn’t release the order. All they could do was cancel it and sell me the regular, more expensive nailer without the glasses. I didn’t want to go through the refund + re-purchase process. I just wanted the item I paid for. But they refused.
A supervisor offered me a pathetic $15 discount if I bought the nailer again from scratch. He refused to give me anything in writing stating they couldn’t fulfill the pickup. Then he just walked off.
The associate then put me on the phone with someone else, wasting even more of my time. I finally gave in, said screw it, process the damn return and I’ll buy the overpriced nailer. At least the associate brought the item to me.
They didn’t even bother calling customer service to verify what I was told or replay the call in which their own operator guaranteed I could pick up the order at any store.
I wasted nearly an hour in-store and days of stress beforehand. This company has zero respect for customers’ time and is completely incapable of solving even basic problems they themselves created. I’m never shopping here again.

Virginia with blonde hair at customer service Doesn’t know how to smile or give good customer service. If I could rate her lower, I would. Literally, I may never go back to this Home Depot ever again. I’m going to tell many people to avoid this store as well.

Online orders take forever to be ready for pick up. Don't count on the 2 hour time frame that is stated when the order is placed. Curbside pickup wait times are excessively long as well. No one answers the phone.

My husband ordered a decking product and wanted delivery. They never called to say the order was in. We called they said we had to come in and pay for delivery so we made a trip into town to pay for the delivery, the person at the desk didn’t know how to do it, and finally asked for help after 20 minutes. So we left the store we were contacted that our delivery would be on Monday but then later they contacted us to say our order was too large for the truck so we had to wait for Wednesday. After waiting most of the morning they contacted us to say our order wouldn’t fit on the truck so now we have to wait till Friday. What’s going to be their excuse this time. Very frustrating but they really don’t care .

I like this place, they have everything that I need for a reasonable price, and it's always in stock.
I do, however, have trouble keeping the plants that I buy here alive. I think they use some sort of synthetic fertilizers like miracle grow. So once the plants get real organic food, they can't digest it properly.

This place can be a joke! Purchased a flex volt 7 1/4" Dewalt saw. They guy working told myself and my coworker any battery that was Dewalt would work with that saw... well let's just say I returned it cause the saw didn't come with a battery it was just the saw. I was at this store for probably close to an hour waiting around for someone to come get the tool I needed. The worst part is there wad at least 3 if not 4 people up front not doing much. One customer said that they all were helping on one person's order and that they most certainly were not just standing around, even though that customer said he was there since 630am. It was 9am by the time we got outta there. He must of had one hell of a morning to be there that long, especially when your not a employee for this store. Ha.

The lady working in the paint department was short and rude to several customers that asked for help. Her product knowledge was nonexistent. According to the app the carry several brands of chalk paint in a variety of colors but could only find 1 brand that had to be tinted.

I was buying plants out front and was locked out of the store 5 minutes before closing. Guess I'll buy plants at Lowes instead.
