S.A.V.E. Thrift Store is a great little local non-profit thrift store and a rare gem in the community. It is a small shop with amazing and very reasonable prices, where most pants are only $5. It offers lots of clothes and housewares, with awesome vintage, unique pieces, and rare gems to find, but no furniture due to its size. The stock is always turning over, making for a fun afternoon of treasure hunting. The store works directly with Peninsula High School, providing students with volunteer and work experience. All money raised funds scholarships and post-education opportunities for students, having raised over $100,000 in one year. Donations go straight back to this cause. The staff is typically described as nice, with the owner noted as a sweet lady, and the store aims to provide a tailored experience. Management has also shown a commitment to addressing customer concerns respectfully. Shopping hours are from 10 to 4. Donations are accepted from 10 to 1, except on Wednesdays and Sundays, with a limit of five bags or boxes and no large furniture. Parking is noted to be tight.
This place gets a very rare 5 stars from me, mostly because of the very low prices you can find here, but also that proceeds go to the high school to give opportunities to kids that need it.
