We have always taken our dogs here and it’s been great except today. We took our dog in because he was clearly unwell. The vet staff checked him out and said he was “stable” they told us to go home and they would call when he could come back. Hours later we called and they said they had already called us and we said we had canceled out slot. NOT TRUE. We had to take him to another vet where he was taken straight back into emergency heart surgery. When we called back to see who “called us” and said we canceled the receptionist was awful and nasty. Refused to let us speak to anyone and obviously did not care that our dog almost died due to their lack of communication and a mix up. Awful service from them today. If any managers see this I would like to speak to you. Your receptionist needs to learn how to handle situations correctly

I cannot say enough good things about Uptown Animal Hospital. We have been taking our two dogs there since we picked them up in April of 2022. Even though it has only been a year and half our girls have gone through so many random medical issues. I have never encountered any vets and staff that care for our dogs as much as they do. They are people that I trust to care for my dogs, and even though the vet isn’t always fun for my two girls they get so excited to see the people. Thank you all for all that you have done! We appreciate you!

Was so not impressed with this place! I brought my large breed pup in because. He was in pain, I believed he had H.O.D after a thousand dollars and a bit more, they told me he had dysplasia and arthritis,,, I said no way I'm sure its H.O.D. common LG breed pups from to high of protein diet, I paid them told them they need large breed vets that actually know all about large breed dogs, and I'm not at all happy or convinced with there diagnosis or Drs. Long story short I took pup to a actual dog hosp clinic for testings, and it was unanimously said No dysplasia, no arthritis ! But indeed H.O.D. Oh and it only cost me 500.There, do your self a favor, if you have a large breed dog,,,,do not take them here, there clueless and very spend !

My review is based almost entirely on the front desk staff. I am extremely empathetic to the stresses that folks in the veterinary industry experience these days (especially at the front desk), but my experience was bad enough that a review is needed. I went in on oct 3rd. The person answering the phone was extremely cold and dismissive which has been my experience the last 3 times I have called this place.The previous time I was calling about my dying cat, and was met with a weird level of aggression/annoyance for no reason at all. This time, it was the same woman, and she sounded just as annoyed, but was able to get me an appointment. When I showed up 5 minutes before my appointment time, both women up front made me feel like I was interrupting the personal conversation they were having. I got a dirty look from one of them who i quickly recognized was the girl who answered the phone. They mentioned at one point that the appointment before me had cancelled. Even with that I still had to wait 45 minutes past my appointment time to be seen (and I was the only person in the office).During my 45 minute wait, all the girls up front did was talk loudly between themselves. They were cursing quite a bit which doesn’t bother me but it would be pretty off putting for some people. The phone rang a few times and was only answered once. At one point I made a little bit of noise quietly telling my dog not to get on the furniture, and one of the girls glared at me and rolled her eyes? I always make a point to be exceptionally nice to front desk staff because I know how awful customers can be sometimes, so I have no idea why they acted this way - it was so bizarre.The doctor and vet tech/assistant I saw were very nice and caring. Seemed a little rushed, but that is understandable since I was being seen about an hour after my appointment time for some reason.they are the only reason for 2 stars instead of 1.Upon checkout I was again greeted with a weird attitude. And I called later that day to ask for the notes to be sent over (for insurance purposes). They said they would send them but I still have not received anything. I’ve been calling, but have not been able to get through to anyone.Just a very strange experience. I’m glad I wasn’t dealing something more serious because this would have been pretty emotionally troubling if that had been the case. If this is how they act when there are literally no other customers in the office, I can’t imagine what they are like at a busy time. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other urgent cares with front desk staff who actually care.

In what was an otherwise stressful day, the entire crew af Uptown was absolutely amazing. They took such good care of our old puppy, plus they were really great with my kids. They did an amazing job, and I can't recommend them enough!

The staff was amazing, never for a second felt rushed. They absolutely cared about my mastiff and listened to all concerns. They followed up the next day with a phone call to make sure he was doing well. I have never been to a cleaner, calmer vet. Absolutely will go back if I ever need their services again.

It should be clear: this isn't really an urgent care. Their model of urgent care is to open at 7am, but they don't take "urgent care" cases until 10am. And when they do take urgent care pets, they do it on a scheduled basis - so the odds of being seen quickly or promptly are extremely low. Even the person working the desk when we arrived with our dog (who had dislodged his patella) said that they didn't like the system. I'm only giving it more than one star because technically, we didn't use their services - we went elsewhere and found faster care.

Unfortunately I had to put my baby girl to sleep due to being misdiagnosed. What was assumed was neurological, lumbar and arthritis issues ended up being cancer.I was willing to pay anything to get the answers I needed to make my girl feel better or make her end comfortable...I even asked if I can get x-rays done. I was told an xray will more likely not show if there are nerve issues. I was skeptical of her diagnosis due to lack of experience the vet has and set her up with another vet appt. She never made it, she died the day before I could bring her in.I took her to the ER a week or 2 weeks later because she suddenly was unable to use her front leg and walking 4 steps had her panting heavily and was stressing. ER says there is hardly any activity in her right lung and discovered lumps along her spine and her neck. Hard to detect because she is a fluffy dog. It devastated me to put her down, but I knew she was ready.Gave a 2 star only because they were able to get me in quickly.

I would like to thank everyone at this clinic for the great RESPECT and compassion they showed myself and my dog Levi in his last moments. He had never been a super healthy dog and I can honestly say in all our vet visits over the years no one has cared for us the way everyone at Uptown did.

Not familiar with this area and discovered our 8 wk old puppy was having an allergic reaction. Everyone we called was turning us away and thankfully we came across this place. We were welcomed warmly and within minutes they began helping our pup. All of the staff and the Dr made sure we were well informed of what was going on and gave our girl the best care. We can't thank you all enough for being so wonderful!

Very caring staff. They were able to see my cat the same day through their urgent care.They were incredibly caring throughout the euthanization process.It was a tough day, but they did everything they could to help.

I had a dog who's anal gland expulsion at another vet had caused more problems for my pup. I called the urgent care early in the morning and was able to get an appt rather quickly. They took SUCH good care of my pup(and me), and explained what was going on and gave me ointment. The ointment wasn't providing complete relief so I called and the vet called me back pretty quickly to prescribe meds to relieve any pain he was experiencing in addition to his sore bum he couldn't stop chewing. My whole experience was wonderful and I've decided to transfer all of my vet care to this clinic. As far as Urgent care, make sure to call in the morning as you can only make an appt for urgent care day of, and appt fill up quickly. Also, note that urgent care is not the emergency care center. It is for milder cases like anal gland issues, sore hips, earaches, etc.If it's an emergency they will direct you to the emergency services. But again, my experience with this clinic was wonderful and my pup would definitely agree!

Took my dog into urgent care and they said she had conjunctivitis and I left with eye drops. This cost 374.00$ Two days later she's blind and I have to bring her back in. 1400$. Still don't know what's wrong with my dog.Rude staff, manager lies doesn't return calls.

Last year, after finding my sick cat in a puddle of his own urine and feces, I called Uptown Animal Hospital. The receptionist asked "Is he still breathing?" to which the answer at that time was yes.. "Well then we can't help you." He passed less than two days later. This experience still haunts me. Today, finding myself needing to find emergency services for another pet, but I cannot bring myself to even call this facility. I sincerely hope you train your staff much better now than you did a year ago. I will never be able to forgive the callousness and unfeeling of my one and only interaction with this facility. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND
