You are in the middle of nowhere and you like meat. Get the barnyard burger. Yum!!!! Absolutely delicious. I got a salad as my side to make myself feel better about all the protein I was about to digest. All of it, tasty tasty. I was staying at the Getaway and stopped in town to get some supplies. Figured I’d get dinner while I was here. Glad I did.Food & drinks: No alcohol but food and milkshakes are good.

REALLY delicious California Club Sandwich. Hot fresh food, big portions, a perfect place to stop for lunch with the family.

Sorry to say, this motel has taken a deep dive since 2001 when I last stayed here. Very unkempt premises and dirty room with sticky floor, dirty worn stained bedding and gritty dirt (food?) on and in the sheets. The shared balcony was littered with cigarette butts. We checked in and out immediately. They did refund which is a positive.

Had the motel to myself on a Saturday night. Clean and affordable. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to a mechanical failure.

Great tasting burgers and shakes. The gal running the place is a fantastic person. They’re short staffed so you may have to wait a little longer for food but if you’re stopping in Glenwood you’re probably not in a hurry.

Great place to stop and get some yummy food. The latte AND the banana shake were rich and delicious. You get enough tater tots to feed two people in one order! The ladies who helped us were nice and patient. We were able to sit outside with our pup and enjoy the beautiful weather. The whole town is quaint and quiet. Makes me want to move there ;)

Stayed at the hotel four nights and ate once a day at the restaurant. Sarah was very friendly and welcoming. Had a few bumps with getting some items for our room. Staff was being trained so was understandable. Kayla was a big help and an awesome cook. Was great talking with her . We all left happy .

It's been six years since I posted my review for this place and a lot has changed since then.I have been coming out to Glenwood at least three times a year as part of my season opener/season finale and fun summer run motorcycle tours. Been doing this for longer than I can remember. At least 30 years. Probably closer to 40.It's a nice little loop ride along SR 14 to White Salmon then over to BZ Corner, turning east to Glenwood. On the return leg we go through forests, deep canyons and enjoy scenic views high above the Klickitat. There's even a hidden waterfall that's worth your life to try to get pictures of. Then a nice ride through Klickitat along the old Klickitat rail trail that ends in Lyle and then back SR14. The 220 mile ride takes the better part of a day partly due to all the stops to take pictures, talk with the locals and patronize local businesses.Jerry, the original owner started this business when we were both in short pants. As we both aged I figured it was a matter of time before he sold the place and retired and that sad day came around 8 or 10 years ago.He pretty much ran the store and Inn and his wife did all the cooking. In all the years I've been stopping there I don't think I've ever had anything except for the club sandwich and fries which was always killer!I actually gave serious thought to buying the place myself when Jerry put it up for sale. I like Glenwood and the people who live there that much. But he wanted a million bucks for the restaurant, store, inn and two story home that's also on the property. Also a filling station, the only gasoline for 30+ miles in any direction. Pretty pricey to say the least. I ran the numbers and paying that much just didn't work for me.So after being on the market for a couple of years a young couple bought the place and changed nothing, which of course made me happy. I never asked what they wound up paying but I'm guessing it was a lot and the debt service was too much for them. It wasn't long before they sold it to a local logging company who only ran it for a year or two themselves before selling it to the Yakima tribe.Kind of went downhill at that point since I'm guessing the tribe has no local presence in Glenwood. The thing that made this place so great was it's connection to the locals. The tribe made quite a few changes and the food was still "ok" but they did shorten their hours and slash quite a few items off the menu. For quite a while after the tribe bought the place they kept the restaurant closed. I gather they didn't see the restaurant as being a very profitable segment and they could have been right about that. The numbers Jerry showed me indicated that the Inn, the store and the gasoline sales were where the profit was.So I never asked but I got the impression today that the tribe might have sold the place because my beloved club sandwich was awful! Fries were as good as always but darn..... if this is what the food is going to be like moving forward I may need to start having a burger at the general store across the street instead. Seems like nothing lasts forever.I'll give them another try this Summer or Fall to see if today's experience was an anomaly.... and I'm hoping it was. I'm an old man, set in my ways. When I find something I like I stay with it and I am about as loyal a customer as it gets. I hope Jerry is enjoying his retirement in Dallesport ... I miss chatting with him. Very colorful and interesting guy. And of course I miss his lovely wife the cook. The succession of these 4-6 new owners just never seemed to be able to keep the magic of that old place going. Most of the staff is nice enough but the restaurant has lost it's homey touch. The waitress today was a lovely girl who looked like she's still in high school. Very attentive and pleasant. The guy at the register looked like he wished he was anywhere but there.
