The staff is friendly, but the service is terrible. Packages are taken by contract drivers who never intend to deliver them. They just leave notices in mail boxes, then return them to the post offices where everyone has to wait in long lines to pick them up.

Why were Walk-up boxes installed where the Drive-up boxes used to be? The whole point of a Drive-up box is that you don't have to exit your vehicle to drop off mail. Walk-up boxes don't work for that purpose with most vehicles. Please change them back to Drive-up boxes.

The people at the front counter are great! It’s the postal carries that suck!!! I have to drive 20 minutes to town to pick up my packages from the post office when they are supposed to deliver my packages to me. I waste my time and gas to get my stuff that they get paid to deliver.

Some boxes or mail they complain about delivering and tell Amazon that it's not deliverable and then I have to go 12-45 miles to pick it up. Customer service is crappy to.

Absolutely the worst postal carriers it seems like the rural carrier they don't care as much about our packages as the ones that wear the uniforms and drives the rigs the lady that delivers down on Court Street in downtown Goldendale throws our packages wherever she wants 2 days ago a package was delivered open and screwing all over my lawn they never deliver it to the front door and they just throw it like they don't care I have plenty of ring video of the postal carrier just throwing our packages from Amazon even delivered a package opened through it right in front of our house she doesn't care if it makes it or not and don't try to speak to her because she will yell at you and tell you she's a federal employee and you can't talk to her she should get a different rig that says United States partial mail Department cuz some of it makes it and some doesn't the rest ends up in the yard for people to steal the worst carrier service I've ever had in customer service is a nightmare it's a shame that nobody oversees the postal carriers here I know we are a rural town so that doesn't mean we need to act like we're in a stone age take some consideration with our mail and if you don't well then get the heck off the job don't be rude to your customers that you deliver to after our you are coming on our property we pay for our service smile some even a shower would do

I pay amazon for free delivery but if the Goldendale post office doesn’t like the size of the package (which will fit in there car) they tell amazon it’s not deliverable and then I have to drive 12 miles to pick it up when they have to deliver my mail anyway! When I questioned the head post master about she was very rude! This post office is messed up!

They cannot follow their own policies and regulations and then lie and threaten customers about said policies.
From your OWN PAGE
"Are businesses required to have mail receptacles or door slots?
Mail receptacles or door slots are NOT required at businesses and offices that are open and have someone on hand to receive the mail when the carrier calls."

This used to be a really great post office under a really nice and "go the extra mile" lady postmaster who really had a community attitude and was a problem solver if there was an issue with a mixed up delivery. Something major has changed since she left.Either they don't have enough USPS trucks, or they don't have any, for delivering packages. Delivery persons must use their own vehicles which are not large enough for all of the packages for the area, especially ones a bit larger, so they are left out of the delivery, for the addressee to have to pick up at the post office counter, which may explain the long lines that so many here complain about. So, they don't have room for your package and don't put it in the vehicle, then post on Amazon or wherever that "there was a problem with the delivery to your address" and you don't get any notice of attempted delivery at your door or in your mailbox because there really wasn't an attempted delivery at all. This occurs when the weather is sunny and dry. The truth is, they couldn't fit it in with the other packages, because there's not enough room for all the packages in the driver's personal vehicle, so there's no vehicle that can bring your package. Then it's up to the customer to figure out why USPS had a problem delivering the package. And when you call the post office they are sometimes less than pleasant. Apparently, they also don't have enough clerks to handle the number of customers that they have either.PO Boxes: I have a PO Box with the USPS since the 1990s but recently closed it because, not only did they keep filling my PO box with other boxholders mail, and mail from the previous boxholder, but they sent an email notice that my po box was too full and said that my box would be closed or I could rent a larger box or pay extra for them to do something else. They set the "box full" email notification on "auto notify" so that the notification automatically kept notifying me that the box was full, for 2-3 months after that, when it was not full. I contacted the postmaster by phone and was told he didn't get around to checking the boxes but that he "goes by the book". I told him I wouldn't be renewing my po box rental.Important and absolutely essential government mail has very often been misdelivered to someone else, and who know what other mail of mine, has been delivered to the wrong address.Damage: Items often arrive dented, damaged or broken, and sometimes are lost all together. When I contacted the post office by phone about a $45 item that was badly damaged, I was spoken to very rudly and then hung up on.They either need more pleasant people working there, and more people, and actual USPS trucks for deliveries, and to be more careful or maybe Amazon, Ebay, and other companies that mail packages need to stop using USPS all together and USPS can just shut their doors, because most bills are sent electronically and other than government mail and junk mail, package delivery has to be the main source of revenue and support.

Since the end of November 2023 I have not gotten my mail or packages, so idk if we got a new driver or what, but the people in goldendale post office needs to get it together. I know I'm not the only one with this issue. If you are having the same problem please say something to the office. We are a community so let's work together to fix this issue ??

If you hate your job so much that it affects how you treat your customers and carry yourself- perhaps find a new job. Its very sad to hear grown people that work at usps openly talk bad about customers in front of them (yet just out of sight behind the counters). They act like we cant hear everything they try to whisper to each other. On top of their bad customer service they Never deliver our packages or mail. i dont think anyone enjoys being openly discriminated against and treated in a non professional and hostile manner. The best part about my experience is that i never have to go back.

Goldendale Post Office is a madhouse! Customers can be wrapped around the door while you ding their bell for service and the staff won't come for 2 minutes. On my last visit, I waited for 3 minutes for someone to come to the counter. Then the staff member spent 4 minutes putting information into her computer before she took my simple pre-paid box which took 30 seconds to complete. Itsna frustrating place. Whatever happened to the customer comes first?
