“Captain showed our family so much compassion after the passing of my stepmom, Myra. He was sincere from the very first moment and treated us with genuine kindness. What meant the most was how deeply he respected our Native spiritual beliefs. We were uncomfortable leaving her body, and he understood that right away. He allowed us to send her with sweetgrass for comfort, which brought peace to our family during a painful time.
