Best motel in Ione! With a beautiful location right on the river! Stayed here three times three different winters and have always had great service and clean rooms. Ione public house and Plaza pizza are awesome places to eat just minutes away!
Nearby activities: Ione City Park is right across from the motel
Walkability: They have Stairs that go down to the river with a dock!
Noteworthy details: They have kayaks and fishing gear for rent!

Excellent place to have an easy escape from the city. It's as if they just re modeled my room. Everything is very clean and the wall fireplace and the electric heat unit work well. Supplied paper towels and plenty of kleenex in the room.
I love this place.

Fantastic value for this motel. Stopped in on a motorcycle trip. Friendly staff, clean rooms, USB charging ports (I forgot mine so this was great...), AC, in-room coffee, and a common area deck with tables and chairs an amazing view to hang out on. Middle of July and less than a hundred bucks a night.
The nearby "foodcourt" grocery store/general store stays open until 10pm too if you need some snacks and other goods.
One of the staff also gave me a tip on a much nicer road to motorcycle on south down to Newport - take LeClerc road on the east side of the river!

Great place for a family to enjoy the outdoors! Use of up to 9 kayaks, 6-7 fishing poles, 2 bicycles among the ability to use the blackstone to cook or the fire table to enjoy the great view of the river( all for free) makes this motel a great value! The owners are very friendly, personable, and helpful when you need something or have questions. Take some time to enjoy this place when you can, you wont regret it.

Clean quiet locally-owned motel with a very friendly owner. Stopped in for a night on my way back from Glacier NP. I wasn't sure about my arrival time, so I reached out to the owner before my trip. She was super kind and beyond willing to work with me. When I checked in, the room had an actual key instead of the plastic cards that always demagnetize on me.
The lock on the door is super nice. If you don't lock it behind you, after a couple of minutes it will automatically lock the deadbolt. Very cool safety feature for those of us that get a little spacey after a long drive.
I had a room downstairs due to me not wanting to lug all of my camping gear upstairs. I really appreciate the parking being kind of hidden from the main road as it provided another layer of safety for the gear I left in my truck for the night. As a solo traveler, safety is always a concern and I felt very safe staying here.
The room was spacious, clean, dark, and quiet. Mine had hardwood-like floors, a queen bed, nice desk & chair, comfy overstuffed recliner, tv, a microwave, refrigerator that actually works keeping things cold, coffee station, free wi-fi, and a light breakfast.
The shower had wonderful water pressure and plenty of hot water. Unless you've stayed somewhere where they don't, you probably think mentioning it is silly.
The lake is beautiful. They have some lovely tables and chairs that overlook the lake. Also took in the local wildlife as 4 deer decided to come dine right outside for a tad.
Will definitely stay here again when backpacking season finally arrives.
