I usually love Safeway and we do go to this location a lot but this place really needs to hire more people to help with physically checking people out. My largest all time pet peeve is checking myself out at the grocery store. They almost NEVER have anyone working one of their checkout lines. And on the off chance they do one day, the person is never there and you need to call them over. Another pet peeve is that far too often, sale items do not ring up as such. I feel i need to take a picture of ever sale item so I can show it to someone when i check out, then coupled with the fact no one works the checkout line, i often give up and just pay full price because it is too much of a hassle to call them over. That being said the few people that do work the checkout lines are AMAZING and beyond nice. Especially, the older gentleman that always wears a Canada mask. He is always willing to strike up a conversation and help customers.

Marketing methods are hard to use (especially QR code). It's discriminating to those who don't have smart phones and difficult for those do... While I'm at it, I DO NOT like forced U-scan. Yes, I'm old-school but many young people are juggling children, trying to do it all. Retailers need to look at look beyond their profit margin.

NO PAPER BAGS AVAILABLE for months now! They only have plastic bags. Shame, not an environmentally concious store, taking my regular shopping to Fred.

The girl with the blue hair, She just hates to be there, And she would Let everybody know. I understand everybody has a bad day, but she’s always like that.I don’t understand why Safeway is putting up with her attitude.

Old man at the service desk has an attitude problem he hasn't figured out in the 70 years he's been on this rock.

We too have had multiple interactions, literally met with utter hostility, from the girl with the blue hair. Most recently tonight, she walked away after she saw me ring up an item that required her assistance (at kiosk next to the attendant station.) ALL of the self-checkouts were full with a line 8+ deep wrapping outside. My station began blinking, so I waited for her to come back. She was in the area between the self-checkout & first cashier stand. I looked around & there were now 4 stations blinking, and the line had grown even longer. I saw her look at the blinking stations then put her head down & continue ignoring everyone. So I walked over & caught her attention. I asked "are you the person working self-checkout?" She scoffed and said "I'm doing something, I'll be there in a minute" with so much contempt it was shocking. She huffed over & cleared my station (without ID verification), then proceeded to have words and/or treat every other customer insanely rude that was waiting for assistance. I've tried to be understanding with similar interactions with her in the past, I get that bad days happen to everyone, but clearly this employee shouldn't be in a customer service position. I'm not one to file complaints but I'm relieved to see that others here have also been moved to do so against this particular employee.

This review is specifically about the extremely rude women with the blue hair at Safeway. I love every employee at this location with the exception of this women. This evening my son and I went through the self check out to ring up our groceries. An item was accidentally rang twice, and tried getting the attendants attention by waving in her direction. She was leaning against a self check out register totally spacing out, (I understand we all have hard days, but EVERY interaction with this person is the same)! She slowly turned her head (picture demonically) making eye contact with me and said “don’t ever wave in my face” (I didn’t wave IN her face) I then apologized explaining my mistake and asking if she could remove the double charge, she just stared at me without acknowledging what I said and reiterated how inappropriate and rude it was that I waved to get her attention. She did remove the item, but her attitude was very hostile and she continued to make rude comments under her breath but loud enough for my son and I to hear.I normally don’t let stuff like this bother me, but it’s the fact that it’s EVERY interaction I’ve had with her, or SEEN her have with others, has been rude, and treats others insignificantly. Her actions and behavior just rub me wrong. She needs to be put in the back where she can’t interact with others, learn how to socialize with the general public, and / or basically do her job. Everyone else is wonderful :)

Today was the second time this staff member that works in the self check out section was very rude to me. At a prior visit he got mad that my partner and I had tried to troubleshoot an issue we had on the self check out machine when he said he was on his way to help us. He was sarcastic with us then stormed off. This time, as I was approaching a self check out station with paper bags, he was annoyed with me and told me that I passed a perfectly good self check out machine (not sure why he cared what machine I used) and then when the machine prompted that help was needed he scanned his badge then walked away without helping me so another staff member provided assistance. I think I will no longer go to this Safeway, because he makes check out so miserable. The tall guy is nice, it’s the shorter man who should never work customer service.

Primarily for the pharmacy. Man, the pharmacist was awesome. Had a vaccination appointment made last minute after failed walgreens fiasco. Appointment for 3:30pm. Called at 2:00pm, asking if I can get it early. He was like sure. Reached at 2:10pm. Vaccinated and out by 2:15 pm.Perfect. He knew what he was doing. Quick turnaround. No waiting for anyone.

Only giving a 5 star so it's seen, don't apply for the Starbucks, you get low hours and the people there are pretty irritating, most the time they don't clean too

OK, on the outside, it's nice. And everything seems nice, and new shopping here also seemed OK, like any other Safeway.Where it was different was, as we were walking up to entrance, we observed kids on bikes stealing waster from the large outside stack of water. The most disturbing thing was that while my wife used the in-store bathroom, she saw aluminum foil on the floor that was used for drugs. If we had seen that at the beginning of our shopping, maybe we would have chosen a different location.
