This place sells 40ocean bracelets for $10 or more USD that the actual company does. Therefore profiting by pretending to be collecting money for a charity. Disgusting act, I’m sure this isn’t the only way they deceive to make a profit.

Recology is the worst company I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. Not a review for the store, but their services. Waited a month to get bins, finally did, then their employees took them back this morning, and customer service “doesn’t know why”. Seems like they have no real organization but they’re fine taking your money. Best of luck to others who have to use this service.

A very minimal store with things like water bottles, tea towels, sponges, little things like that. Not exactly a gift shop, as there’s nothing here that I’d gift somebody. It was interesting to stop by but I won’t be back again.

I really liked this shop and all the recyclable material and products it has. There is also a filler station for shampoo and etc. I love it and will be back to revisit.

Nestled in the Gilman village, the recology store offers upcycled products. I've personally never purchased anything being sold, but they have a unique selection of products made from recycled materials. I however frequent recology because they take styrofoam, fluorescent bulbs, and batteries among other generally non-recyclable items for free for Issaquah residents, for sustainable disposal and/or recycling/upcycling. There are some limits, for example fluorescent bulbs are capped at 10 per day. Also, there are methods of repackaging for safety, for instance, batteries need to be taped side by side so the terminals are not touching and covered with tape. You simply bring in your items, and in the back of the store is a person with a laptop that will validate your address and voila, you've helped sustain the planet by keeping those toxic items out of the landfill.

This business is beyond horrid. Would be no problem if it was simply a business, but it isn't. It's a monopoly. I cannot chose my garbage service, I must use Recology. I need a replacement compost bin after mine was swallowed by the truck. My numerous calls to customer service only go to a third party answering service that can do nothing for me other than 'pass on my request'. I've not received a call back in over a year where I'm dealing with billing issues, missing garbage cans, you name it. They literally do not pick up and do not call back. Same goes for any email requests. I receive a receipt notice that my issue will be addressed within 24-48 hours. But, nothing. There is literally no way to get in touch with anyone at that business. Atrocious business practices.

As Recology in Gilman Village claims to be a "recycling center" that takes paint cans, I went there expecting to recycle 9 interior wall-paint cans. Wrong. This Recology location is basically a small shop that sells all kinds of eco-friendly things -- from kitchen gadgets to socks. In the back, almost like an afterthought, is an area for dropping off stuff. Immediately a clerk told me I could drop off only 4 paint cans. I'd have to come back the next day with the rest. Reason: the cart they put paint cans in was almost full. So I'm expected to make two 25-mile roundtrips to drop off all my paint cans? Honesty, how can this place call itself a recycling center when it 1) doesn't have enough room to recycle much, 2) will turn you away when its small space is full, and 3) is tucked into a shopping mall with poor signage and a parking lot that doesn't offer easy access to the only door. In fact you have to carry your stuff around the building. In the end, I dropped off the 4 cans, plus some lightweight packing material and 3 florescent light tubes -- and paid $36 for the privilege. That's more than the county dump charges. For sure I will not be back.
