Always fast and friendly service in the lobby or the drive through. Tellers know us and don't just treat us like a number. They do seem to be understaffed at times and I rated only 3 stars because it would be nice if they were open on Saturdays for limited hours. Overall have always had a good experience at the McChord branch.

Prior to my visit, I had never heard of Harborstone Credit Union nor did I realize that there was a branch on the installation. I became a member to HCU with an auto loan through the car dealership of my recent purchase. The reason for my visit was to take care of some items in association with the vehicle purchase. As soon as I walked through the door, I was assisted. I would like to acknowledge Alyssa Lein for her exceptional service! She was very friendly, efficient, thorough, informative and personable. She helped me to take care of five items swiftly and accurately and made this first time visit/experience smooth and effortless. I appreciate her customer service and recommend asking for her for your future visits!

My loan officer was exceptional! I hadn’t taken out a loan like this in years but my loan representative walked me through the process ensuring I understood every important detail. This was my second time going to this building. It's currently located on McChord AFB. Service the first time was great. In and out quick and easy. Processes were explained throughly. Today on the other hand, it was terrible. I'm in the atm drive-thru and I have one payment left to make on a loan with a shared/partner credit union. A representative appears on camera and I inform him that I was told I could make my final payment here to close out the loan. He says I can't close the loan here, but I could only make the payment. I was fine with that as I was planning to call the primary credit union after making the last payment. He tells me to hold on please. I then wait about 5-10 minutes until another representative asks if they could help me. I tell her that I was told to wait and that I wanted to make a payment on a loan. Then someone else (maybe a manager) chimes in and says aggressively "you were told we can't close out the loan, only make the payment." I said I'm fine with that, I just want to make the payment because it's my last payment. She rolls her eyes (on camera) and says "you can't close out the loan!" "You can only make payments!" I tell her that's all I want to do but I was told to hang on and have been waiting for 10 minutes. What do I need to do to make the payment. The second representative says they need my information. I said I have the information and as I proceed to tell her the number she switches over to another customer. She comes back about 5 minutes later and says sir you need to provide your information. I told her that I tried but she cut me off. She then says they can't just accept the information via voice, and I need to write the account information down and provide my ID through the payment tube. I told her she never said any of that before. I'd never made payments this way. How are customers supposed to know what the process is if nothing is said? I provided the information on paper but forgot to include my debit card. The supposed manager comes on camera and asks how is she suppose to process the payment? I said sorry, I forgot to include the card. She said oh my goodness! Next time put it altogether! After a few minutes she comes back and says my card was declined. I said ok and got my items back. Before I leave I hear an elderly customer asking a representative about making a payment. She was treated like she should know how all the payment processes worked. I left after that! I have never written a bad review before but this was ridiculous! And on a military base too. That last representative was probably having a bad day, but that doesn't mean you treat people like that.

I would give zero stars if I could. Every time I come here they're rude, unhelpful, and every teller seems to want to avoid the next person in line as if work is such a pain. They're never consistent in what services they say they can do. Getting change is such a pain yet they always act like I'm the pain. I would never recommend this location
