Darron and Chris in the parts department are super awesome and helpful everytime I call, email or just stop in. I would recommend going in and talking with one of these guys for any of your Kenworth parts needs

I dealt with two service clerks while buying a fuel cap for my truck. The first guy brought a cap to me and told me the price was over $130 just as his portly co-worker approached. The first clerk then let me know there might be one at a lower price. He retrieved the cheaper fuel cap, gave it to his partner, and asked if he could complete the sale. He then asked me quite sassily if the $50 cap was “mo betta?” I told him that it was more suitable and he responded “Glad I could help DAWG!” The other clerk asked for my card to make the payment. I handed it to him and after he swiped it, he flung the card back to me(although I was offended at this I was also impressed because I never imagined such large fingers having that kind of dexterity). He also flung the receipt to me. I’m not a sensitive person who hurls accusations of racism around heedlessly but I will say I wouldn't be surprised if these guys went home after a long day of passive-aggressiveness, got out of their Pepe-Kenworth uniforms and slipped into to comfy all white robes with matching hoods. This store is open until 11 pm but I suggest that people of color avoid this place after sundown, or all together.

As soon as you walk in the door here, you know that you're going to be taken care of I met Crystal at the reception desk and she knew exactly who I was coming in and what I needed to get done, from there, Jon in the service department assured me that I would be taken care of, he kept me informed at each step of the way. Parts are on the way, and I am a priority for getting repaired and out the door. They are open from 7 AM until 11 PM. on weekdays. They have a customer lounge here with a TV and refreshments to help you pass the time while you're waiting.

Hands down the best Kenworth repair shop I’ve been to. Snacks and drinks and satellite tv and a charging station in the customer lounge. Excellent experience and the staff and mechanics super friendly. I would go out of my way to have my big rig fixed here.

Fantastic break room, but 35 miles down the road,ABS light came back on. Will give them another chance if needed. Also room to drop trailer, which is a plus in the area.

The Good: Called on 1/29 to make an appointment for the injector recall on my 2023 680 and was given a Tuesday night or Thursday/Friday appointment. In which, I was given a Friday afternoon appointment (assumed early as I wasn’t given an actual appointment time). On Friday 2/2 I called at 10:46am and asked what time my appointment actually was that day. The gal mentioned 10am and I was kinda shocked as I was never given a 10am appointment time. So, I let her know I’d be there between 2:00pm to 2:30pm and she stated that was okay.
The Bad: I arrived at 2:30pm and checked into the location. I was told previously it’d take approximately 3-4hrs (I was fine with that). However, I wasn’t told that at that techs would be leaving at 3:30pm, my tech would be leaving at 7:30pm to 8:00pm and that there’s only (1) tech that’s working until midnight (closing) that would be working on another truck until closing.
So, there was 2-3 flushes done on the injectors for a recall due to manufacture defects. Come to find out that around 7:00-7:30pm I’d need to look at getting injector 3 replaced. Me knowing my luck, it didn’t come to any surprise. However, what came to my surprise was the tech was leaving at 7:30 to 8:00pm. They didn’t have another tech to finish it. The injector they had in stock. The owner or service manager doesn’t allow techs to work overtime.
Now, where does that leave me? I let them know on Monday that I needed my KW as I had to go to Boise and back this weekend 2/3 to 2/4). I also let them know that the following Monday and Tuesday my KW was going into the shop at the PDX location for other stuff not related to that.
That leaves with different options.
- I leave my KW there and lose out on $4000 this weekend of work. Try to find a ride back to Vancouver WA and back up (unsure when they could fix it).
- I leave my KW there, lose $4,000 of work and losing my appointment times in Portland.
- Taking my KW back, doing my Boise turn and getting my truck into PDX for my appointments
There are other options too. However, nobody also told me prior that if warranty work was started in Kelso/Longview that it couldn’t be transferred to the PDX location.
So, the real questions are why I wasn’t informed of all the issues I listed? Why the hell take on my KW if y’all knew only (1) tech would be until midnight (closing) and my tech unavailable to finish it if it needed an injector?!

September 19 2023, this was my first time using Pape Kenworth in Kelso and my experience certainly surpassed my expectations. The people there were professional, knowledgeable, and I finally felt that the shop was as concerned as I was about getting my truck back on the road. As an owner operator my truck is my Livelihood. I appreciate their sense of urgency as well as the work they preformed. I would Highly recommend them.

The best dealer that I’ve ever been in my trucking job during 4 years . Professional workers that knows how to do their work. Without any doubt I can suggest to anybody who doesn’t want problem with their trucks and don’t want to waste their time that cost to much . Especially in this business every day is money. Thank you guys for your great job!

I had a crankshaft that broke and they replaced my engine after I got my truck back the cruise control doesn't work now , went to Pape in kelso to get it fixed and their saying it's a switch which doesn't just fail while in the shop getting a engine replaced ! As far as I'm concerned I would not recommend Pape Kenworth shops to anyone for any reason. This isn't the first time I've had issues with Pape . This corporation needs better mechanics and they need to know exactly what needs to be done when troubleshooting an issue. Warning stay away from Pape Kenworth locations
