Ashlee W. Helped me tremendously, more than I expected honestly. My dad recently passed & my mom has dementia. Thank you Ashlee for your knowledge and help in all I am having to deal with. Best banking experience ever!

If you are looking for a new bank or credit union. I would recommend you look somewhere else. Their ATM machines are constantly down and make it very inconvenient to deal with. In my opinion they really need to upgrade their systems bit they use the same old outdated machines for 10+ years. I wish I wasn't so dependent on their credit union for my everyday transactions. I've now made small steps to transition to other options in tricities area12/13/23 update:Machines still don't work. Just drive down the street and use NUMERICA CREDIT UNION'S machines. Thank God for their machines, they work 100% of the time.

So it seems like 90% of the reviews are have had similar experiences. Bought a new car at a dealership and was given the lowest rate at this credit union so we went with it. However do some research on a "precomputed interest loan". It essentially calculates the total interest you would pay over the life of the loan and then splits it out over the payments. Unlike a fee simple loan the interest paid on the loan never goes down no matter the balance. As a result of this if you want to pay off the loan early you get hosed. You are told you get your 5% or 6% or 7% APR but in all actuality the rate for the first year or so is over 20%. You should also know that these are predatory loans that are illegal in 17 states (not Washington State somehow) and federally illegal for loan terms over 60 months because they are terrible for the consumer. Per the customer service agent these are the only type of loans that they offer. Credit unions are usually good for the account/loan holder but not HAPO. Luckily I was able to refinance with a customer-friendly credit union that offered a fee simple loan, and an APR that is actually lower than the one HAPO gave. While I do take some responsibility for not doing the research on this loan prior to signing I will not take responsibility for their terrible customer service. Not only do they not have enough support so you are waiting in line purgatory forever but when you do get someone they have no idea about the products they offer or details of said products. They are stuck in the stone age. You can't pay your loan payment online and they will charge you $12 to pay over the phone. Their website is abhorrent. DO NOT USE HAPO CREDIT UNION.

Everything was going fine until our vehicle was involved in a wreck. The vehicle was totaled and once dealing with the headache of car insurance, the loan went to gap. No big deal until we closed in on the 30 days past payment date and Hapo (who sold us the gap insurance) wanted another payment to be made. We already used the skip-a-payment but they were gonna report it to our credit as 30 days late.We had to go into Hapo, figure out what was going on, call the gap company, call the car insurance company to get them to send the info that the Gap company needed. THEN we had to wait for payment to hapo, which didn’t happen until 5pm!This experience was super stressful! Beyond annoying to have to babysit 3 different companies! After this experience, I’m looking at banking elsewhere. Which is disappointing after being a customer for over 15 years!

The original loan went through with no wrinkles, and HAPO administered it professionally and managed it to our complete satisfaction for the life of the loan.

I requested a new debit card. They never submitted my request. A week later, they tell me that they will expedite a new card, but it'll cost me $50. Upon explaining how this situation is the bank's fault and that I will not be paying, I was told there would be "an investigation" into my case. The audacity of screwing up and demanding I pay to access my own funds. Area manager, Morgan, made promises to call me and sort out the issue, yet failed to do even that. Weaponized incompetence and an inability to follow up on the most basic of requests. How are you still in business? Learn to do your job properly, then do it better.

Don’t use the ATM less you want your card held and it prints a receipt claiming it’s stolen and no one from hapo can retrieve the card. Teller said it happens a lot you would think they would fix the problem..

I like this bank. The information is straight forward and any questions I have had are either answered or they find someone who can answer. Each teller has their own unique style of customer service instead of seeming fake and programmed like a computer which I personally find refreshing. I think it's important for anyone banking here to understand these are people with real life struggles and emotions not robots programmed to do only one specific task a specific way. The water bottles are free and super cute!!!

Don't do business with this entity they will treat poorly, they don't communicate they bully and threaten for things that are not true. They continually create issues to make you deal with that are unwarranted. Put your money in a whole before you deal with them, don't borrow their money don't give them your money don't even think about going around them.

This just happened today.Didn't realize this location is now closing at 1pm, no big deal, we pulled in the drive thru around 12:55. The lady that helped us told us they have to call Gesa to verify our cashiers check and Gesa was closed and to come back or it gets a 7 day hold. We took her word for it and left. But later found out Gesa contact center opens until 5. And we've never had an issue with our account so not sure why she wanted to put a cashiers check on hold for that long. Even the check itself said 1-5 business days max.We understand it's a 3 day weekend and it's closing time but to shoo people away because you didn't feel like doing your job is just poor customer service.
