3 stars. I like to think this is a fair rating because it reflects my overall experience with Fred Meyer in general rather than just my visit here. We have lived in Kent for over 10 years and the store has always been well stocked and run by friendly staff. This particular trip, however, was not so great. I went in around lunchtime to pick up some ingredients for dinner and found that the deli meats were not as fresh as I had expected. We ended up having to go elsewhere for our meat needs. The store itself was bustling and there was no one in sight who seemed to be able to help me or answer any questions about the products I needed. The store had been recently reorganized which makes it hard to find what anyting were looking for, but that was not a Fred Meyer issue. Maybe they can use some more staff at this time?
Overall, our experience with Fred Meyer in Kent is mediocre rather than great and would have rated higher if there wasn't something else going wrong.

Terrible wait this place always has few lines open and sooo slooow there’s one open counter backing up into the aisles management is supposed to keep these lines short

Avoid the pregnant women working at uscan. She is very rude and condescending towards customers. We have experienced her rudeness first hand prior to today. When my wife asked if anybody had returned an item we paid for, but may have left behind, the employee proceeded to talk down to my wife and refuse to even discuss the situation. The employee immediately wrote my wife off and was super rude. My wife just so happened to have worked for QFC(Kroger) for 10 years and is well aware of the customer service policy and how to treat people while acting as a paid employee representing a corporate organization. Unfortunately, the pregnant women working uscan at the front does not exemplify the customer service standards of any organization, let alone Fred Meyer. Today we were checking out at uscan and the pregnant employee would not stop glaring and staring at my wife with such hate in her eyes. I don't understand what makes a person act this way towards strangers, but I don't accept this type of behavior from a place of business. We don't have to go to Fred Meyer, but we choose to spend our hard earned money there. I just hope management will have a serious talk with this employee about customer service standards. Maybe some retraining on customer service would be good, because her attitude makes us feel very uncomfortable every time we come in. My wife and I have been nothing but friendly to all the staff and don't deserve this treatment.

The store was clean and items seemed easy to find, but I went there around 4:30pm looking for some shirts. I found quite a few that I liked. I saw the fitting rooms, but they were not staffed. I asked one of 3 employees that were sitting/standing and chatting if they could help with the fitting room. The employee who responded was nice, but told me that they weren't open because they "didn't have enough staff". It's very frustrating to not be able to try on clothes because, out of 3 employees doing nothing but chatting, no one could assist with the fitting rooms for 10 minutes. I left without buying anything.

I understand that inventory shrink is a thing, but treating your customers as criminals is a horrible experience. Threatening people with being trespassed when they question the policy is a bad look too.

I just had a wonderful experience in the self check-out lane when employee "Choi" came to give my husband and I some assistance, unbeknownst to me I was able to save a few extra bucks on the total price, thanks to "Choi", who was very helpful and quick to assist and inform us about some tips that we can use in the future.....thanks Choi!
