Lile collected 16K#s of our household goods ahead of a cross country move. Inasmuch as we did not have a destination our goods were to be 'securely stored' in their 'cilmate-controlled' "fire-safe" warehouse. NOT! In actuality, our goods were left with wreckless disregard in a box truck and a trailer in Lile's yard subjected to the summer heat (July 1-Aug 25). They were not placed inside the warehouse as their materials promised and subsequently several high value items are missing. These are indisputable facts as I have a statement from the hauler to this effect. The hauler is the driver who picked up our household items from Lile and drove them to SC. We have filed a claim for the missing and damaged items with North American Van Lines. The carrier will not address the care or lack thereof Lile took with our worldly possessions, the carrier simply address. damaged and missing items. Stear clear of this operation as our experience was all around awful.

Kim and Ernesto and Ernesto were fantastic movers! Very professional and positive with a difficult out of state move than required a shuttle truck on both ends! Big full days of hard work for these three and always had a smile. We loved working with them. And they were very reliable with the date for delivery. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to handle any move!

TL:DR Go somewhere else, anywhere else. I have moved over a dozen times, full household moves, across the country in between states. My expectations are not high for moving and I always expect a few casualties. But this move with the Lile was the worst, which is odd because it was a move from one room in the house to the other in preparation for a remodel, no truck involved. The only high point was the sales guy, Dave, who came out in person and made an estimate. Based on Dave we gave the job to Lile. They were not the lowest bidder but they were women owned. Many mistakes. Some small but annoying, like we asked them to keep the path to our home security system center clear and they jammed it up with 10 ft of boxes. Two refrigerators were involved in the move, including contents. We just found a box of refrigerator contents in a heated room, the smell of rotting eggs brought our nose to it. It was in a box labeled refrigerator contents. Worst of all the two refrigerators were severely damaged, one a late model high-end LG worth at least $4K. They did not take measurements, they did not care to remove handles, they did not care to remove hangers from the wall, they just rammed it through our hallways putting big scratches in the door, a big scratch across the touch screen, and then banged it down the stairs damaging both the stairs and the compressor in the refrigerator. This late model high-end refrigerator is a complete write-off. And what did they offer us for that? $210!!! Like another reviewer said they hide behind the law saying they are restricted by law for making this right. Like if they gave me a discount off of the $5,000 cost for moving a few things from one room to another room and the garage the sheriff would bust down their place for illegally giving us a discount or something. Here we are moving high-end appliances in a high-end house and they damage the very appliance they were hired to move irrepairably, bash the hallways and stairways doing it, bash the front door, and hide behind $0.60 a pound liability.

This company stole boxes of our household goods from our move from Washington State to North Carolina. I repeatly tried contacting the company to find out where our items were they refused to even talk. They moved our household belongings with people from Florida which was a total shock! This company charged me thousands of dollars for the move but little did my family and I think American Van Lines would deliver our belongings to the wrong state and not help us locate the missing boxes. Throughout my military career moving from country to country and across country moves never experienced this kind of poor service from top to bottom. I do not recommend nor endorse American Van Lines. Customer service is non existent after they get your money.

Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of this business. The experience we've had has been awful and I'd hate to have anyone else go through it. Moving is stressful and we knew that all would not go perfectly but the lack of accountability this business shows is beyond disappointing. We moved from Washington to Arizona for my husband's job and needed to store our belongings while we looked for a house. The woman who gave us the initial quote said all of our belongings would be stored together. That did not happen so when we had our belongings delivered almost 20% of our things were still back in Washington. They forgot an entire crate of our furniture including a box spring, dining room table top and our BBQ. Large items that should not just go missing. On top of that it took them an entire day just to find the crate in their own warehouse. Our sons crib was also broken and they didn't put together the changing table. Awful service, would never recommend.

I've had three months to reflect on this terrible experience, and what these people got away with should be illegal. They hide behind falling under federal laws that protect moving companies, which they threw back at me when I was asking for common decency and assistance with the destroyed property that they caused due to negligence. I've considered suing, but the time and money may not be worth it, they know that, so they do not have to care about their unscrupulous practices.

2 stars and both are for the driver. The crew who packed us bickered and were slower than molasses. To make matters worse, they are unethical. They're paid by the box, so they made sure to use tons of their product. They double boxed one box filled with tupperware and cutting boards. They put 2 cheap wine glasses in there to justify it, I'm sure. Does an Ikea wood cutting board really need to be wrapped in 16 (yes I counted) pieces of paper? So wasteful. I'm in the middle of unpacking now, and I had to stop to vent. This is our 11th interstate move over the past 29 years, and this is the worst packing job I have ever seen. The woman, Donna, was ridiculous in the way she packed and the way she spoke to the crew. I'm sorry I even tipped her. She labeled all boxes with DMV (her initials), and it reminds me of the inefficiency of going the DMV. She packed things in random boxes that make no sense, the labeling is often wrong, and I regret allowing them to pack anything. They wasted my time on both ends and they wasted a ton of paper. Run as far away from their packing services as you can. They stole money from me by the way they packed--just churning fees. The driver, Tyler, was a good guy. I don't blame him for the truck breaking down and the move starting at 3 pm instead of 8 am after I had gotten up and gotten ready and I was stuck sitting in a house with a bunch of boxes. I was exhausted. At least he communicated. He was also a trooper on the delivery end. It was cold and snowy here, and one of the local crew dropped my refrigerator on the driveway because he wasn't holding it with one hand on it. The coils on the back broke, so they're now taped back on. It's not working the way it should, but I don't have the heart to make a claim because the crew kept stressing the $$ comes out of the driver's pocket. I wish someone worried about my money as much as they worry about the company's and the driver's. Oh well, consider yourself warned. Edited to add: We packed at least 60% ourselves. The crew complained about Donna and how slow she was. I don't get why you think the weight coming in low is a big deal when I sold or donated a ton of items. Also, the waste of packing materials cost me extra. They are charged by the box. The reply was full of misinformation.

Tl;dr -- this company has serious communication struggles, from the dispatchers to the movers. Would not recommend. Extremely poor experience. Crew was not informed that they were scheduled to pack my belongs, and showed up without any packing supplies. Additional crew member was then dispatched to deliver supplies (2 hrs later), but showed up with nothing but boxes (no packing paper, tape, etc) and then drove all the way back to their warehouse to get some, eventually returning 3 hrs later (now FIVE HOURS after their initial arrival). I had to push back an important work event due to this inexcusable delay. Once supplies were available, the crew did an okay job. I think they were just flustered by the series of mishaps, but I had to repeat simple instructions (e.g., to put liquids in a specific box and treat specific, clearly labeled items with care) multiple times. Most boxes were packed well, but I definitely watched several boxes get things just chucked into them. The crate itself was loaded in a way that seemed a bit haphazard (e.g., my bicycle was literally just thrown on top of the stack with nothing to secure it). I got the impression that this crew is usually pretty competent, and they were nice guys, but this particular job did NOT go well.

Lile came to my house and had it packed up in 2 days for our move from Washington state to South Carolina. They made the entire process easy and smooth, they were also extremely nice and funny to talk with! My husband and I highly recommend Lile company for anyone looking to a swift and painless move! ETA: I believe it was the Tacoma Lile location

response to Lori..... it is unfortunate that both you & the branch manager are more focused on blaming the customers, instead of trying to communicate better with them, and improving communication within your organization. I will not say this again.....I only signed the credit card form because YOUR mover wouldn't do the move without me doing that. I had explained to her that it was approved that we were going to pay with a certified bank check upon delivery. I also pointed out to her that on the top of that form there was a note, addressed to my sister-in-law, that stated that the form could be ignored.....however, the mover said she wasn't advised as to how we were going to pay and needed the form filled out and signed in order to do the move. I have ALREADY stated this in my prior posts, and I have also explained that your representative that did the estimate, Eric, had told me that it was part of the service to assemble the furniture. Yes, I did sign that the shipment was delivered, but that doesn't mean the movers should have left the apartment without assembling the futons or at least asking us if we wanted them assembled. I signed the papers in haste and tipped them as fast as I could because they said they had another move right after us. Does that mean they should take advantage of us? Also, wished I didn't sign the credit card statement no matter what your mover said, and wonder now why you even included that form in the paperwork since it was agreed that we were going to pay with a certified bank check. Additionally, like I said before, we had a flight to catch & my 93 yr. old mom who was moving was not feeling well. As a matter of fact, the same day our flight landed, she ended up in an emergency room in New York. I didn't have time to argue or try to phone your company about signing the paperwork. Your mover could have contacted you as well. She said she would definitely advise the company of my concerns about the credit card issue, and when I spoke with Eric afterwards, he said he would speak to the company about having my credit card credited back. However, someone in your company told my credit card company that there was no other type of payment submitted! In retrospect too, should have noticed the futons were in the boxes and not assembled, but how does that excuse the movers if that is part of your service. It is my fault that I didn't ask them to do that? Who wouldn't want their furniture assembled when delivered? Regardless, glad that this is finally on it's way to being over, and I do thank you & the branch manager for that. You can be adamant in blaming me for everything if that floats your boat, or you can be smart and use this as a learning experience. I know I will for sure!
