I’ve never felt less welcome in a fabric store in my life. We came in, browsed, found what I specifically needed (and had seen the previous night on the website) then waited to have my fabric cut. While browsing the employee was chatting up a storm with the couple at the cut counter. When it was my turn a customer who had just walked in cut me off with a question and the employee left the cut counter to find the fabric they requested and then proceeded to cut her fabric despite my bolts being on the counter already. When the employee finally cut my fabric she said almost nothing to me. The impression I got is that I was inconveniencing them with my patronage, which I won’t be doing again.

Very cute quilting shop with extremely helpful staff. They have really cute fabrics from my favorite artists. I look forward to shopping again!

I had not been to Running Stitch Fabrics until my friends and I took a Sashiko 101 and 201 class. This shop is located in historic downtown Kent. There is on-street parking. The class offered by Running Stitch Fabrics was taught by Malinda Shirley. Malinda is a great teacher with an infectious positive energy, a lot of patience and knowledge. She brought a lot of samples and projects she has made. It was exciting to see the possibilities of incorporating sashiko into tote bags, quilts, placemats, etc. The quilt shop carries a wide assortment of notions, sashiko supplies, fabric, patterns, books and more. There are quite a few quilt samples hanging on the walls and on display in the windows. There is a long arm machine that you can rent after taking a basic longarm class or they offer long arm services. The owner Alice and her staff are very nice. I highly recommend Running Stitch Fabrics.

They have a wonderful selection of quilting fabric, top brands and makers. Better fabric quality and design plus lots of notions, batting and thread that you don't find in the big box stores. The owner and her staff are super nice and helpful. There is a long arm machine that you can rent by the hour or they offer quilting services. Street parking is super easy and free.

This shop is an absolute delight! Packed with everything you could possibly need to make amazing custom quilts and more. I went for the first time with an embroidery project in mind and was delighted to find floss and transfer paper along with a few other items to help with future projects.

What a cute little fabric shop! The lady working the floor and cutting counter, Marissa, was very sweet. You could tell she was working her tail off on a hopping Saturday afternoon but she still took time to greet me and my two young boys. She even offered each of my boys a few button from the bulk button bin, which they loved! The fabric selection was excellent for such a small space and there was pretty much every accessory you could imagine or need. There were a few indie sewing patterns and a TON of quilting patterns. I really wish they had a larger selection of sewing patterns. But, if you're into quilting, definitely check it out. I can't wait to make something fun with the unicorn fabric my 4-year-old picked out.
