I ordered groceries for pick up almost exactly 1 hour ago. They had it ready very fast and my fiancé picked it up on his way home. Most of the produce was covered in literally hairy mold. Every single ear of corn (5), & green leaf lettuce was already bad. Carrots were completely dark brown on the tops like they have been left out for a day.
not only do they not check their produce throughout the day to make sure that it is bug free and good, but Someone actually picked that up with their hands and threw it in a bag for me to give to my three-year-old at home for dinner tonight

This Safeway has begun requesting to see receipts on exit. This is not a membership store such as Costco or Sam’s club. Know your rights. You’re not required to show your receipt upon exit as that would violate the 4th amendment (unlawful search and seizure). They can only stop you from leaving the store if they think they have proof of you stealing (probable cause), otherwise, they would be breaking the law.
Shame on this store for intimidating
customers with unlawful practices.
Edit: a full month later and this Safeway is continuing these unlawful practices. We will no longer be shopping here.

All the other stores in the neighborhood have closed within a couple miles and I got redirected from Fred Meyer to Safeway. I want to buy some lactaid which was already expensive at 13 to 14 dollars whereas you can get the Walmart brand lactase for 8.99. they raise their price to $23.99 I hope these fools burn in hell. Who in God's name would charge 23.99 for a 60 count lactaid. For the record I require 60 tablets to eat anything with milk in it. You can get three times that for 16 or 17 bucks at Costco. These fools should be ashamed of themselves. I cannot I walked out left all my groceries I said I'm not going to support your store I can't. This is not okay. I told the guy I'm going to go without food tonight because I needed some lactaid and I got some food somewhere. And I will not pay that it's wrong, it's dishonest and it's theft. Shame on management shame on Safeway. If you haven't heard of WinCo best grocery store in western Washington it's 2 to 3 times cheaper on every single item I don't exaggerate what you spend $225 for at Safeway you'll get for 40 to $60 at WinCo. Safeway exploits everybody and it's shameful. I honestly hope their grocery chain crashes and burns after this they do not care about people they're greedy and they are destroying our society. It used to be that grocery stores like Albertsons operated on a margin like 16 or for the record Costco operates on a margin of 2 to 14%. Safeway operates on a margin of 300% plus percent> add boycott them but people are too stupid to pay attention.

Absolutely horrible Safeway. Save yourself the trip and go to fairwood. The self checkout staff doesn’t even know how to work the machines.

Excellent service from Mark from the meat department. He showed me how to use an app and save on digital pricing. He didn't have to do that but he did and for that I'm thankful.

Their deli had really good Chinese food today! Some locations differ in quality. This one was one of the better ones!

Save yourself the headache and don't go here after 10p. I spent 20-30 min at home before I came clipping forU coupons and I get there the lady wouldn't scan my member card with her scanner and then none of the coupons were working so she fixed two and told me that's all she can do I showed her every single coupon I clipped and she said sorry I did all I can do. With groceries high as they are I avoid Safeway in general and they won't even acknowledge my few dollars I need to save. I'm done with Safeway. If you're trying to save you need to avoid it too.

How is it possible that a store like this does not have bathrooms available to the public? For me, I would give it zero stars and I will not come to this place again.

Using a bathroom is a human right. It’s ridiculous to have a major grocery store without a public restroom.

They close earlier than they advertise, all I needed was one item and the doors were already locked 10 minutes before they are supposed to close
