I could not be more happy with our experience here. We had been told multiple times that complete removal of our dog’s cancer would not be possible due to the location but Dr. McKeirnan got it all! They were also amazing after the surgery answering my many questions. So impressed by the kindness and compassion of every single person we encountered here.

At 1:30am, I took my 11 year old chihuahua mix who was bleeding from his bum to this ER. When was able to get someone to open the door, (the button to push was hanging off the wall, so you have to go to the parking lot and call a number) they took my basic info and then took my dog back. I could hear him yelling as he is sensitive and easily stressed so them taking blood and giving him a rectal exam (I'm not sure what else was done ...) was upsetting for him. The vet came out and asked me why I was there. I pointed to the drops of blood on the floor and said that is coming out of his bum. In going over his history with the vet, she seemed incredulous about what treatments he had recently been going through around this issue. 'Why didn't they put him on a different diet? Why is he on such a low dose of prednisone?' Questions along lines that I could not answer as to choices his vet had made. The vet went into the back and shortly after, the tech came out and said their computer wasn't working and they couldn't get the recent vet records I was emailing them from the waiting area, and since he wasn't critical, she told me I should take him to another ER where they let owners be with their pets while getting examined and treated, then she handed me a vial of blood to take so he maybe 'didn't have to get another draw' - which he did have to have done at the next vet ER. The tech suggested I take him to The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), and that referral was the only good thing that came out of me driving from Seattle to Shoreline to this clinic. She told me I should consider taking him to The Veterinary Emergency Group which was was amazing! I will now always take my companions in need there (note they have several locations). In a nutshell, I felt they didn't want to put up with a loud, stressed animal, not having access to email, the obtuse approach and challenging attitude of the vet, all left an obvious super bad impression. Bad enough for me to take time to write this. This was my first and (will always be) last visit to this clinic.

I called because I found a stray cat and it needs emergency medical treatment however, because it is a stray, they Refused to care for it. Solely a accompany based on profit if I were you I would not feel safe taking my animal to a facility that won’t help an animal in need regardless if it is a stray or not

Our baby got hit by a a car. She was alive until 2 minutes before we got there. They knew we were coming and treated her like a trauma patient they were ready. She didn’t make it but the care and follow up I will never forget. It was the most traumatic day of my life and I’ve gone through a lot. They sent us a beautiful card and poem and I will always keep them

To the Staff and Doctors at AES,Thank you so much for being available to see our best good boy, Kelso, recently on emergency. My husband and I were out of the country when my son found Kelso collapsed and in severe pain.Kelso had never had such an episode and we felt quite helpless being so far away. I have no doubt that he would have passed away that evening had he not been able to get into a vet right away.Unfortunately, we learned he has terminal cancer and just a short while to live. However, we are eternally grateful that we have a bit more time with him thanks to AES. We are back home now and able to shower Kelso with love, attention, and all the best treats in the world during his last few days or weeks. When the time comes we will be able to euthanize him at home, without pain or fear, surrounded by his loving family telling him he has been the very best heeler in the world.Thank you again for everything you did to buy him a bit more time! It means to world to us!!Kelli & Adolf Maas

Super impressed with this establishment. Late at night going out to the back yard our small dog couldn't stand or walk and was vomiting... something was very wrong, I rushed him into AES after a quick Google and was seen sooner than they told me it would take. They let us wait in a private room, and the staff was super kind and caring for my little guy. The Dr. gave me all the options, and didn't force anything on me really, but rather gave a spectrum of choices, and validated what I thought the best course of action would be based on his vitals and progression while there. He received fluids and we went home for him to sleep it off. Now 48 hours later he is back to his normal self. He most likely had marijuana intoxication from something thrown over our fence. The most important part of this however was the small and manageable bill. I was expecting a huge late night ER upcharged fee, but was plesantly surprised.

Took my dog in on Tuesday and got the help we needed. It was mostly diagnostics and medicine that ended up paying $1,500.That would be fine but today my dog took a turn for the worse and when my family member called while I was at work, they were told there was no emergency vets in and if we needed help our dog would have to go somewhere else. How can there be no vets?! And how could they not care enoufy to not follow up or call later at least?Luckily my dog is okay now that we found somewhere else but we know not to call here again.

I called to get advice on a bee sting since my vet is closed for Fourth of July and they recommended this place. The receptionist was extremely rude over the phone and couldn't even help me figure out how much Benadryl you are able to give a dog per amount of weight. I won't be calling/ taking my dog here ever! They obviously don't care about your pet.

the bad treatment we receive in this place where it is supposed to be an emergency hospital for pets, which I never imagined that they would treat us as badly as a lady name cat didSo rude unacceptable ?The employee name cat was very arrogant and rude when she was talking to us she started walking backwards as if she got disgusted with us, as she was doing that she told me that they would not treat my puppy because she did not believe that he needed emergency attention and that if he didThey wouldn’t take him in I less I’ll covered his face cause she was scare to get bitten I’m like what??? He is not going to bite you what are you talking aboutThan as she was leaving us standing there she said very sarcastically. Well sorry take him somewhere else !!! someone tell me why were were treated different I don’t understandthere is blood still coming out of his neck I don’t really know where to take him

AES is truly a special place. No one wants to have to take their pets into the hospital, but when I had a frightening situation with my kitten Sonny, we went to AES and received the best care. Dr. O'Hanlon is the best doctor I could have asked for in an emergency situation. He sprung into action to help treat my kitten and even after he had to be transferred to a 24-hour hospital, Dr. O'Hanlon still kept in touch via phone and email to make sure everything was ok. The staff along with Dr. O'Hanlon are always so kind and helpful when it came to my kitten. Really happy I found AES and highly recommend them to anyone else that finds themselves to be in a difficult situation.

Our boy has been gone for almost a year and a half and I still remember how thoughtful and compassionate AES was during an extremely difficult time. We'd been frantically trying to find emergency care and they worked with us to find a way to get him the care he direly needed. Everyone we interacted with was so patient and empathetic and we felt they genuinely wanted to see our boy get better. I wish I could remember the doctor we worked with but I do remember how thorough and honest he was about the possible outcomes for our boy. I can't thank everyone at AES enough.

One of the best experiences we’ve ever had with veterinary care. Our dog woke us up with seizure-like activity that continued off and on for several hours. We called around to probably 10-12 ER/urgent care vets with no luck before being evaluated over the phone and told to come in to AES. Once there, Dr. O’Hanlon and his entire staff treated us and our dog with incredible care. Dr O’Hanlon was very thorough and made sure to explain everything in detail, and his staff was friendly and caring. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Having to take your fur baby to a hospital for an emergency is never a good experience, but AES made the best of an awful situation. I had to take my young cat in with a urinary blockage that was pretty advanced because I didn't know what was going on. He spent two nights and three days in the hospital. The vets did a great job explaining to us everything that was happening, giving us all of our options, all while being very upfront about pricing, and bests practices. I thought for sure I was going to lose my cat and took that very hard. They allowed me to come back and see him to assure me that he was improving the day before being able to take him home. They took ample time to explain to me how to prevent this going forward and what signs to look out for in the future. There was no "parent" shaming and very good communication from the vets, and vet technicians. They even let me three way call with my husband each time they called so that we could both get all of the information first hand. I chose to give AES 5 stars because they really did deliver stellar service, but like most other reviews I do strongly believe that they need to update their COVID protocols. You are still required to check your pet in via curbside and almost all communication is done via phone and outside of the hospital - They did bring me in to tell me about his blockage after masking, taking my temperature and asking the standard COVID questions. As well as allowing me to see him in the back during night two which meant a lot to me. I'm extremely grateful for the stellar care that was given to my cat, the open and honest communication, and would highly recommend AES for your pet emergency.
