I have been coming here for a few years and I’m the beginning it was a great place, there prices went up at least 40% in year,which I was fine with for the convenience.. unfortunately the last few times my skin has been stained horribly, took a few days too come off. You always wait for your appt time and it’s clear they turn and burn the hair colorists. I’mToday I had an appt at 9am and I was going to be running late, I called at 8:15 am and it’s an automated system that takes your call. They had all my information and told the system I was running late, system said it would let the color bar know. I called again at 8:30am in hopes to speak with a live person, held for22 minutes and got a text which I responded the same thing, no response back. At 9:09am I get a call from the color bar asking me how late I was goin to be, I was taking a leftInto the parking lot and told them 3/4 minutes. I was told they can’t see me because they didn’t know I was going to be late according to the manager there, she said she can’t see any of the texts, luckily, I have them. They went ahead and canceled my appt and charged a cancel fee! I will dispute this with by credit card company along with BBB, how many people have been charged a fee because there online system doesn’t seem to work?It was clear the manager lied as the gal who called me specifically said they were given the message I was going to be late and the manager said she never got it ..I have spent almost 45 minutes this AMTrying to reach customer service and the same greeting repeats itself, either it’s not working or no no one is covering the calls

Thanks for your reply but I am not sure how am I supposed to give you good review when your location doesn’t care? I got a text right after my review but no one has been in touch since then even though I was promised someone will call me! This behavior from management is completely unacceptable.Since my last review, things have changed considerably with customer service so I need to edit my review and am hoping that someone from corporate office will see this and contact me as everything else has failed.I have been a member for over two years and have always been happy but can’t shake off the sourness of being treated like nothing. My appointment was cancelled earlier this month and that was one of the most appointment that I needed for a very important event. I am not going to write a complete story here but i can say that I was very disappointed. After the whole issue was messed up and I had to go to the event with gray hair, I have been texting them to contact me but I haven’t heard anything in past 2 weeks. They have completely ignored me to the point where I am thinking of canceling my subscription. Before I do that, I want to talk to corporate so they can refund me money for the month they refused to get my hair done and I do want to make sure that this doesn’t happen again! Madison, please contact me ASAP!Wonderful place and excellent services. Color is all they do so they pay attention to their clients.

Updating my review after my recent experience.My most recent visit was uncomfortable and upsetting. It felt short staffed. There were several people waiting when I came in. They were seated so it must have been a while. The person who was helped before me got into a disagreement with the employee about charges and the customer was correct. I backed up the customer which must have set the stage for the rest of my visit because that staff member was less than pleasant when doing my hair. The color was quickly slapped on my head. There was quite a bit on my ears and neck that I had to wipe off with a tissue while processing. For the first time in almost ten years my scalp and skin felt like they were on fire. I had to get it washed out early. The kind person shampooing showed concern, but not the person who applied my color or the manager. Today's visit was so weird because I have never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome there before. Really disappointing.Always a great experience. Really nice staff and a comfortable, clean salon. I have used their products at home for years, but enjoy getting it done in the salon even more.Update- over a year later, I still love this place. I come at least once a month and always get great service.

I was pregnant so I haven't dye my hair for 6 months. I had lots of white hair all around my roots.The lady, despite my efforts to explain, dis such a poor job of painting my roots. She just did one layer of color all around at the same time. My roots look much lighter than ends. This time I was really unhappy:((((

Dont have enough staff for support. They are in a rush always. Have done hair coloring and pick ups and both are rushed, unpleasant experience.

I went there because I have used the at-home color products from them, I was really disappointed. Unprofessional colorist! during the application of the hair dye, the colorist negligently stained my sleeves, also face. She did not shampoo thoroughly either so I had to wipe my face and neck a few times there before able to walk out of the salon without looking funny. (It's a lot of stain!) she said this is the standard for their hair salon, and they provide cleaning solution for customer to DIY clean the stain, excuse me??? she also said I couldn't prove the stain was from her since I did not notice right when she applied the color. (Now I know why there isn't a mirror there as you can't see how they work on your hair).If you are going to this place, make sure to wear dark clothes and prepare some facial tissue to clean yourself after. good luck

I wanted to bring your attention to help improve the customer service I received from an associate at this location. It left my visit with not wanting to continue my business in the future.I came in to purchase my usual color that I have been using for a couple of years now. I am from Hawaii, so when I am in town visiting my daughter, I make sure I stop at this color bar to get my products. The associate mentioned that I would need to purchase a kit in order to purchase another coloring tube. So i opted to purchase a kit. Then I asked to get the extra coloring tube because she mentioned it can only be purchased with a kit. However upon payment, the extra tube was not billed on the payment. I asked to add the extra color tube that I initially wanted, but she says she couldn't do it because I already paid for the kit. At that point i was confused. My purpose of getting the kit was to get the second color tube too. What I can't understand is why she could not offer to refund me and then recharge my kit with the extra color tube so I can make my visit and purchase complete. She merely just said sorry, handed me my bag and left me to exit the store. She did not want to help me further to resolve or make a suggestion to help me get another color tube.I left with disgust and hurt despite how much I love the product.I hope that this type of service do not continue to others that frequent the establishment, hence my contact.I appreciate your time to listen and hope this note can be addressed to all employees, to better serve the consumers of a great product.

I got my hair done once at this establishment and everything was good. This past week I had an appointment scheduled for my daughter to get a balayage done at 9 AM. We showed up early and we’re sitting in the parking lot and we got a phone call from the store saying that they had an emergency and there was no one available to do her hair but could schedule her later in the day. We had missed the call so when we called back, the lady was extremely rude when I expressed frustration about being cancelled 10 minutes before our apartment. I explained that it was My daughter’s birthday, and then I had taken her out of school for this appointment. She then asked how old is your daughter and I stated she was 15 and she then told me we can’t service minors. I was shocked by this because I made the appointment for her hair to get done when she was with me in the salon. My main point of frustration is not only being canceled 10 minutes before our appointment, but the complete lack of care that the lady I spoke to had. If you can’t service minors, then OK but that needs to be told upfront and you should act like you care at least a little bit. We will take our business to an establishment that actually cares.

The process for making an appointment or trying to contact the Kirkland salon is severely lacking. I made an appointment 4 weeks ago knowing I had a trip coming up. I searched my email for the confirmation - there was not one - so I called a 425 number - which goes to a CALL CENTER - not their location. I asked for the time of my appointment and she claimed I don't have 1, then blamed me for not doing it right. Really? I had never been happy with a color (partial highlight) - but this is so frustrating. Of course, there are no appointments for days - and now what about my trip? When I made the appointment it said it was confirmed. I sell computer systems and fully integrated 42U racks for a living, I know when an appt is made and when it isn't. So frustrated! If anyone from the Totem Lake Madison Reed cares, can tell me where in the ether my appointment went, and if you can get me in - please reach out to T.Rennie - i am in your system and have been there 2X to get partial foils, phone ends in -7080

Great product and friendly crew of expert colorists. However, there is no way to communicate with the salon directly.If you need to speak to a human, you will be tossed on a corporate phone tree for 30+ minutes. Then, you will be told they will send a text message to the team. It took 2.5 hours to hear back on an item I left behind. They kindly found it for me and set it aside.I love Madison Reed’s modern salon design, and vegan, clean, high-quality product, but I wish they could honor the fundamentals of service with a phone number to reach a real person at reception.
