I have banked at the downtown Kirkland branch for many years. They are always efficient and professional. Peter, Melissa, Joy and Linda provide great customer service. Although I no longer live in Kirkland I continue to use this branch because how great the staff is.

The downtown Kirkland location is by far the best one! Whenever I call, they are quick to transfer me to the right person. They have at least one teller in the front, two experienced loan officers and two more account-related people at their desks. While doing a loan application, Peter (the manager) was very knowledgeable and honest. If he is out, there is another loan officer, Melissa, who is always willing to help and answer all questions. Overall, we felt like we were in good hands.

I've been banking with Washington Federal since 2006 when they were First Mutual Bank. I recommend them to my clients that I set up, review, and train one-on-one in QuickBooks and Quicken in Kirkland and the Eastside. Why? Because unlike US Bank, they allow free downloads into both of those software packages. And their statements are easy to read. And this location has free, gasp, parking in back and on the street.

Consistently inconsistent customer service. I repeat the same, very simple banking deposit twice a month. Each time the account number for the deposit is given along with the check to be deposited for a lease payment, this procedure provided by the home owner. Two years of doing this same procedure twice monthly with the exception of today, the third time, it has been smooth and without issue. However, on three occasions the very same 2 clerks who handle this deposit chose to change the rules, to not accept a deposit and create a negative experience and more stress for me. Today required contacting the home owner, a large business owner with accounts in this bank, to clarify the bank's miss information on the account. During this period, the bank manager stood in a back corner watching without offering to come forward to help with a solution. This negative experience along with 2 others previously waster 10-20" each. With no other customers in the bank and a visible staff of 5 present, it seems they don't care, they are not efficient and are not there to make things work for you. Steer clear. It's your money, your time and banks needs to remember they work for you and the account owners. D. Floyd PAC
