I needed a place to stay in La Conner and picked the Wild Iris due to its pricing and proximity to the building with the class I was taking. The inn was a DELIGHT. I booked a room with a queen bed and a fireplace and was absolutely floored by it. The Jacuzzi tub was amazing. I loved that the room has a DVD player already hooked up, with a library of DVDS in the lobby. The whole building exuded coziness. The hotel still had a lot of charm that you don't get at a big homogenous franchise.I wish the rooms had a fridge and microwave, but that was just a minor thing. In the morning, I went down for breakfast. The breakfast room was light and warm with lots of windows. The young lady running the room was charming and helpful. The cold bar was small but everything there was excellent. Yogurt, granola, several kinds of fruit, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, and several sweet breads. The complimentary hot special was a blueberry French toast with cinnamon strusel that was a joy to eat.My husband and I are already planning to book this hotel for our anniversary. It's wonderful!

Dissapointed. We have stayed a dozen times over the past 12 years. Sad to see the changes and slipping quality. Lots of maintanance issues. Sub par breakfast. One staff person the second day was nice the other not so much. I get it. It's hard to find good help these days. Before buying the place next door the owners should take a look at what they have and put some energy into that. It's really not just about making money and renting more rooms. Please take an honest look. I hope you are able to invest a bit into your property and bring it back to what it was. Fireplace sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. Shower caulking needs replacing as well as the tub. Window sills awefull. Outside deck and rails even worse. Internet very slow with one other guest there at the time we stayed. No welcome or welcome cookies. Spoiled OJ for breakfast with Denny's eggs. Shower conditioner dispencer broken and non functioning. I really don't want to go on and on. Just please take a look. Thank you and I wish you well.

Location is close to downtown. The rooms are large. The jetted tub is large enough for two large people to sit in. Beds are soft, perfect for my wife but a but too soft for me. They had complimentary cookies when we checked in. Only negative was the high pitched screeching sound of the fan in the bathroom.Nearby activities: We had good fajitas at the COA restaurant near the inn.

Family lives in this area and I have looked forward to staying at the Wild Iris for years. My niece actually worked here during high school and it has always in the past enjoyed a great reputation. For our annual women’s trip, the three of us chose LaConner and the Wild Iris Inn. I booked three rooms in a row on the second floor so everyone would have their own individual room. Two rooms have the king beds, and one had the queen bed. The king rooms seems nicely appointed with large TVs and a larger vanity. The queen room had an old iron bed, lumpy mattress, broken phone, furniture with paint bubbled up and worn off ,bathroom fixtures that were barely affixed to the vanity, and a very musty old smell . The smell was so bad. I actually went down to the front desk and asked for a can of something and they gave me Lysol. I sprayed the room down and it helped only temporarily.Lastly, the queen room had a very old TV that was the size of a computer monitor (it might have been a computer monitor),and there is no way to turn the TV off or on from the bed. You had to physically get up and hit the button on the side of the TV. Small point? Maybe. But when I just spent well over $1000 to book 3 rooms, I at least expect to have a TV or I can turn it off and on in bed while I’m lounging and relaxing. The woman behind the counter on check in was very nice. The male innkeeper was incredibly rude and when my friend commented to us about it, he must have been listening because he came up and tried to make excuses for his comment.A windstorm came up that night and lights went out. No emergency lights. No flashlights offered. Not sure of safety and legality of no lighted exits at the very least.Really gruff innkeeper said this happens a lot. I get it. But aren’t there basic safety laws?Next morning the power is still out. The kitchen did a great job of just working with a gas stove to put on a breakfast. They offered to boil water so we could at least have tea.We left LaConner for the day since power was out in the greater area. After our day, we returned home to power. The next morning, the three of us we’re having breakfast at the only table that could seat three people. We were there for exactly 1 hour when we were told that we had to leave because people were waiting for a table. All the other couples were seated. There was at least three empty tables around us. We had finished our breakfast and we’re just finishing our discussing what we were going to do for the day. The gruff guy comes up again and says people are waiting for the table. EDIT: response from proprietor said a time limit for breakfast was in place. It was not mentioned, it was not posted, and when we left the Inn 15 minutes later, no one at the table. A four person table is not a ‘party table’ and there were plenty of empty tables you could have put together for 4 people if 4 other people showed up. Which they didn’t.I have never been so embarrassed. My friends had traveled out of town and stayed here on my recommendation, and I was so ashamed at the way we were treated and the way the rooms were not kept ( no refresh of towels, trash, beds made), and the lack of any storm response.

Recently stayed at this inn for two nights. The first night there was a power outage, which was weather related, but there was no emergency lighting or emergency procedure posted for the room. My room was on the second floor with no lighting to direct me to an exit. This occurred about 11 pm. The following morning there was no one on duty at 7:30 am at the main check in for update on outage (still no power). The staff finally appeared and seemed annoyed that I and my friends were asking questions. At breakfast the second morning, my friends and I were enjoying the breakfast and were asked to leave the table for others waiting. There were no other people waiting to seat and there were empty tables in the dining room. We were puzzled by this request. The man “in charge” was disrespectful, condescending, and gruff. I was there to celebrate my 74th birthday. Clearly, the man in charge had no skills for hospitality. Not impressed.Safety: Not equipped to handle an emergency such as the power outage. No flashlights in the room and no emergency lighting.

We (my wife and I) had the pleasure of staying at the Wild Iris Inn at La Conner, Washington, on September 19/23, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The standout feature of this charming inn is its exceptional customer service. The staff’s warm and welcoming attitude made me feel like an invited guest rather than just a traveler passing through. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. The inn’s location is another highlight. Situated just a stone’s throw away from downtown La Conner, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring the area. Whether you want to stroll through the quaint streets, visit the local shops and restaurants, or simply enjoy the picturesque surroundings, the Wild Iris Inn is perfectly located. The cleanliness of the rooms is worth commending. As a seasoned traveler, I’ve come to appreciate well-maintained accommodations, and the Wild Iris Inn certainly delivered in this regard. The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully designed, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that contributed to a restful stay.A standout feature for me was the breakfast experience. The inn offers a delicious and diverse selection, including fresh fruit, which was a delightful touch. Starting the day with such a well-prepared breakfast set a positive tone for our entire stay. The value for money was excellent. In conclusion, the Wild Iris Inn in La Conner, Washington, is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. The combination of excellent customer service, a convenient downtown location, clean and comfortable rooms, and a delightful breakfast experience made our stay truly memorable. The Wild Iris inn stands out as one of the most quaint and professionally run establishments I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. If you’re looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway, this fine establishment should be at the top of your list.Maxx

Rooms are OK. Good thing there are fans and air conditioning.Service was iffy, didn't like the comments directed at some guests by the propiertor when they asked for a room on the main floor because the wife has troubles climbing stairs, his response was they should have known better especially since they had stayed there before, these were repeat guests - not good customer service. Also a comment about the number of toilet rolls you are allocated was surprising. How are customers supposed to know how many rolls they need before they begin their stay, seriously? business must be pretty tough if the owners don't value guests.Breakfast is included and I would say it's OK. Food was just ok, coffee was not great. They had some very young people serving and obviously they are not well trained. They tried, but I don't hold it against them.I should state the female that worked at the front desk was good but the male who appeared to be the proprietor was not welcoming or guest friendly. We will not be staying there or recommending it to others.

I stayed here with a large group of family members and we all enjoyed our stay. Check in was low key, self serve. They leave keys and info at the front desk. They were kind and let us use their large room for a few hours as family arrived. I need a clean, comfortable room and bed and I got that. We all enjoyed the patios and grassy area off patio as the Inn prefers quiet inside. Breakfast was good and included regular staples such as creamy yogurt, granola, hard boiled egg, fruit, coffee and OJ and a new entree each day. I agree with one other review about the Inn feeling "rule heavy" (jacuzzi use, fireplace room which is a gathering space but is meant for reading or internet use). Inn sign says, "live on the wild side". They may want to rebrand! That said, we had a lovely time and absolutely loved the town of La Conner and the hospitality we received from various business owners in the community.

We were very happy with our upgraded room that included a private jetted bathtub for 2 just outside the room. The surrounding foliage provided the privacy. The included breakfast was an assortment of baked goods, fresh fruit, and today's hot item was a breakfast English muffin sandwich prepared right there in the kitchen. It's a nice walk to downtown LA Connor.

This is a small boutique style hotel. The rooms were clean but old and dated, They were very small and too warm to sleep well, though the bed was comfortable. Staff is a little too rigid with their rules, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This is not a $200 room! Breakfast was a disappointment; scrambled eggs and sausage were OK but the hash browns and toast were not edible.

Such a cute inn! Our room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the sheets were soft. The location is nice and I was able to easily get around town. One downside is that they don’t offer complimentary bikes anymore. Also, for breakfast, they only offer one hot special item. Otherwise, you have a few pastries, fruit, and cereal to choose from. Overall, still a great stay!

What a wonderful place. Place has a real vibe from the time you walk in. We strolled in a later in the evening. Key was waiting for us. Went into room nice soft music playing good smell, and comfy bed. Hot tub was amazing, with a little music and bottle of wine. The back porch was nice faces the raising sun so that's nice. We slept well and got up for complementary breakfast that was real good along with home breads scones and treats. We went on a walk around the great quaint little city. With lots more for us to explore next time. Thank you. Coffee shop galore, hard to pick one.

I don’t normally leave reviews… or outright tell a inn keeper I won’t return… Although beautiful and located in a nice spot we ran into significant issues. My husband and I stayed there for one night as we finished off our honeymoon. There was no one at the desk when we got there to answer any questions, and when we got to our room, there were a little bugs in the shower, and the different places in the bathroom. The Jacuzzi was a nice addition but when we looked at the wine glasses next to it, they had already been used and were dirty. When we went to talk to someone, we weren’t going down to ask for money back or anything else, but just to let the owner know that there were a little bugs in our room and dirty wine glasses so she would just be aware. She told us “I’m sorry you feel that way,” sorry- bugs aren’t a feeling. Incredibly unprofessional. We were given high recommendations to go here but now can’t help but discourage others from staying.
