I've been a longtime customer and have always received great service. My dad died leaving behind a huge stack of savings bonds. The bank's policy is to not cash savings bonds for a decedent, even with letters testamentary from a court. It appears to be a widespread problem with banks so Heritage is apparently not alone. Other than that, I have no complaints.

If you are wrongfully ticked, confronted, or verbally attacked by Diamond Parking employees while parked in front of a "Heritage Customer Parking Only" sign, do not take the issue into the bank. They can and will do nothing about it. You will be informed that though the signs are up and you were legally parked, they do not own the signs. Diamond Parking does. So if one of their attendants has a bad day and tickets you illegally while you are in the bank for 3 minutes doing business, they can't stop them. I know, sounds crazy. But that's the way it is.

I paid off my Ford F-150, using the calculated amount on line. A month later I was told I owe $2.75, which I sent as a check because there was no way to pay that small amount off. My title was held for 5 weeks due to a $00.01 (1 cent) discrepancy. On top of that they charge me $35.50 title transfer fee after I paid them thousands in interest. DO NOT USE THIS BANK!

we are a small not for profit and went to heritage to open an account. to help us save money they suggested we have all statements and communications be electronic. ok, so that would save us some money. they also said they would not charge us monthly fees. ok for that as well. after a few months of them living up to these promises our business went inactive and even though we had a minimum balance above what is required, they started taking out fees again. they kept taking out fees until our account balance went negative. they also charge us an "inactive" account fee - twice. the explanations were ridiculous. we should be able to, and we stated from the beginning, that we would open an account and it may not always be active, but we would always keep it above the minimum balance. in short, they failed to live up to their promises and when we closed our account gave us $63 of the nearly $400 that used to be there. don't bank with them - worst bank ever.

heritagebanknw has a slogan "Managing your money has never been easier." This is especially true if you have no access to it. Family member travelling abroad and tries to be proactive by going in to the branch before the trip to advise Heritage Bank employees of her travel plans. You'd think all would be fine until several days into your trip you card is not working. Use the online application to confirm plenty of money in account so you call Customer Service (I use that term very loosely). Let them know.......AGAIN........that travelling abroad and advise them about "proactive" trip into branch before trip. They say that they will handle it. Couple of days later and card still not working so call again. So this is a trip to the branch and now two calls..........while on vacation (thanks, Heritage Bank). Now for the first time she is told about a 3rd party provider and their 800 number to call. Could one of the so-called Customer Service Reps have advised of this............maybe even on her visit to the branch. Well of course not......that would have been far too easy. Nice work, Heritage Bank, you are well on your way to fulfilling your goal of being WaMu II...........By the way, how did that work for them? Don't have to go far, just ask the current leadership of this "Community" bank.

Heritage Bank mailed a flyer directly to me offering what I felt like was a great deal. Open a free checking account, follow a few easy requirements, and receive $150. I called them this morning 4-18-14 @ 11:40am to ask a few questions about it, and spoke with Kara or Carol. She said her name pretty fast and didn't sound like she was in too good of a mood so I was not game to ask her to clarify. I asked about opening the account online and was told it could only be opened in person. I explained that I am homebound and physically unable to come into a branch, but they were not willing to work with me. My husband can take the mailing in to a branch and open an account, but I can not be joint on the account unless I somehow teleport directly to the branch, because I'm not going to be able to get down there any other way. Trust me, if I could, I'd love to walk in there and open the account in person. Discriminating against someone over something they can't control sucks.
