Bud rebuilt my engine for my '62 Rambler American convertible and she runs great! She's so much fun. He kept me updated with all the progress while he was working on my engine. Awesome job.

Excellent machine shop but extremely busy. High demand for quality work makes for long waiting period. Purchased a remanufactured engine a few years ago land couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend this shop if you can wait for good work.

Just got our 5.3 back and installed and it runs better than new. Want to thank Bud and Matt for the excellent work. Best engine shop around in my humble opinion.

Too Long Didn't ReadWaited 5 months for a simple rebuild. Despite my file supposedly being on the "top of the pile" for months, the work never got done. They never called. When we called or visited, they always had a bad excuse. When that didn't work, they blamed us. When I decided to get my parts back, they decided to finally start work probably as I was en route to the shop. They also lost some of my parts.Full reviewWhen I dropped off my engine for a standard rebuild, Bob (Bud's mechanic) showed me a long list of work orders ahead of mine. He said that it would be about 2 weeks and told me to get a spot in line. I heard nothing for a month, so I stopped by the shop. Bob asked if I wanted to get in on a run of foreign engines next week. I agreed.Hearing nothing for a month after that (2 months into the ordeal), I stopped by again. Bud took my file and set it aside from the pile with a flourish saying that he would take care of me. He also verified my number and work order details. After 4 months since the engine was dropped off, they still had not reached out. I was left to assume that no work has been done. Frustrated, my girlfriend took over. When she called, Bud apologized and said that "the file got lost in the shuffle" because we hadn't placed a deposit on the work. (I had dropped off the engine with my wallet out, ready to pay. At no point had they asked for a deposit or even given an estimate of the cost, despite that I asked several times). Bud said that they would be ordering parts and that everything would be completed by next week.We waited over a week, and heard nothing as usual. We called. They hadn't even started working on it yet. We assumed that parts hadn't been ordered. Bud said that it was his fault and gave his usual spiel about putting the file on the top of the pile.We confirmed the job details again, but as Bud tried to hang up, he nastily complained to someone in the room about us and said that my girlfriend was always changing her mind. At no point had we changed the details. It was always a simple engine rebuild.5 months into this hellish experience and I pulled the plug. I called Bud to arrange a time when I could pick up my parts. He had gone from nice, to befuddled, to nasty, and now he was uncertain and apologetic. He kept repeating that he had not tried to cheat me, which was weird. I got to the shop and Bud made a show of saying that the crankshaft was on the polishing machine. They had finally decided to start work as I was trying to pull the parts. I got the feeling that they began while I was on my way to the shop. Weird again. Bud kept apologizing and saying that he wasn't trying to cheat me, but that I had to pay for the work to polish the crankshaft. I was done with their excuses and lack of professionalism, so I quietly simmered. I just wanted to get my parts.I had neatly organized my parts in boxes and Ziploc bags. In fact, the boxes were still sitting in their office walkway 2-3 months after I'd dropped them off. Now, they were all over the place. It took a while for Bob to track them down. When I got them back, some of the crankshaft bearings were missing. They were going to be replaced anyway, but still.

Very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly staff. They took the time to discuss what I wanted in an engine and what I was going to use it to do. I received a well built Ford 289 with the parts I wanted for a great price and on time. Highly recommend.

Bud built my first motor in 1977, I have been using him ever since. He recently did a cylinder head on a 1954 inline and did a fabulous job and his prices were so very reasonable. Great personality, great work and great prices, what more can one ask for.

VERY satisfied with buds work, have taken two heads to him for a resurface, one was done for a MLS head gasket (MLS is picky about surface finish), and i couldn't have been any more pleased with the quality of the machined surface! And the quick turn around time, repeat customer here!
