“Depending on the time of day and season, this place can be empty or packed. My parents and I came here as part of a family reunion to just get some general supplies while in town for a few days. Since Leavenworth is a Bavarian-theme town, most of the stores don't hold stock quite like the generalities Safeway does. My favorite purchase at the time of the family reunion was a small head of red cabbage, which I proceeded to eat like an apple while socializing during one of the more quiet times of the family reunion. Sometimes red cabbage heads are massive, so having a smaller head was more manageable for consumption. More recently, I have made this Safeway my go-to store for last minute snack, fluid, and road supplies when heading into/out of Cashmere to visit my uncle living there. He moved to the area approximately six years ago, but I didn't start visiting him until November 2020 (overnight visits, June 2020 for day visits). My visits thus far, have corresponded to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, the Leavenworth Safeway has remained open during this time. In my experience there have occasionally been lines at check-out, however not long lines.”
