Normally I have a good experience here but you definitely need to make sure prices ring up correctly by checking your receipt. Something rang up incorrectly so I went to Brian in customer service. He was super condescending and when he couldn't figure out why it wasn't priced properly either...instead of offering a price adjustment he refunded the purchase. Ummm I wanted that at the price advertised or I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. Anytime this has ever happened before I was just given a price adjustment.

5 lb bag of flour, nothing bigger? 4 oz cans of baking powder? They seem to be going away from the basics and catering to more specialty items in smaller packaging. I did my bi- monthly grocery shop 8-18-17 and was terribly frustrated by their lack of the basics.this was the Lynden Wa store.update: Now they only have little cans of shortening!?What's the deal, Mr Harris?Oh dear, they changed up the soups, too. Fortunately, a person can still earn gas rewards. In this time of high gas prices, that's a plus.Okay it's 2024.There are now 20lb cloth bags of bleached flour. And big cans of shortening. The molasses is in small jars and not in the baking Isle, but next to the honey and pancake syrup.

Worst experience ever. Some of the cashiers are rude for no reason and have a nasty attitude.

Changed from 4 star to 1 star because night staff is not very friendly.Usually I use self checkout, but whenever I need assistance at night the staff is slow and doesn't speak to me. Which is ok Usually. Tonight I went into a lane since i was buying alcohol. I guess they wanted to close the lane but I didn't know since it wasn't blocked off or shut down yet. I was met with what seemed like a passive aggressive "oh I guess I can help one more. Which made me uncomfortable already. I said I didn't know they were closed, she said she would get someone else to help me and they started blocking the lane off. I said I just wanted to get my ID taken care of for this wine here. And she said you can do that at self checkout as well. So I decided to leave because it was obvious she didn't want to help me and I felt awkward. I ended up having to wait longer for my ID at self checkout and even the same lady came to check my ID again but made someone else do it? I feel like the whole thing was unnecessarily inconvenient and awkward for me and no one told me have a good night or anything.

I will start off saying that everyone that works at this location is super friendly. I shop here several times a week and everyone always says hello and asks me how I’m doing which is so refreshing. No they are not cheap. I know there are less expensive stores. I shop here for convenience. My issue is stock. There are times where they will be out of a product for weeks at a time. This started during Covid and I understood that this was just the case everywhere so I never complained. I feel however now that enough time has passed that it must just be a managerial issue. If you know that you sell a certain product at a certain ratio why wouldn’t you order appropriately? I’m not talking about one or two items. It’s gotten to the point now where several things on my list will be out of stock for weeks on end. It’s frustrating to at the least. I do stock up when I can, but I’m human and there are times where I need something that day. I hope they can work on this and bring it up to corporate for help if need be.

There is a lady on the night shift who is at the self checkout that seems so unbearable to me, she is very intrusive, every time I go to pay she pretends that she is fixing something and she is on top of you, it is really very uncomfortable and I have noticed she does it with many customers who look Latino. I'm brown and Latina and it really seems racist to me. I won't go to this Safeway again.

I do both online & in-store shopping. Picking up the online order is easy. Use the app to get "coupons" added to your phone number account. Also, you collect points with every purchase, which my husband uses to get $$$ off gas which is at this location as well.

Cashier was extremely rude to my friends and I. She was ringing us up and running the self checkout at the same time. A group of people from Guatemala that I work with were also there shopping at the time and she kept making comments about them. We tried to explain that they don't speak english and they aren't from here, but she continued to scoff and angrily walk back and forth between us and the self checkout through our whole transaction. "why is he on one that's closed now uShe says she had a "rough day" because the fair is in town. I too work a job where crowds are a factor, but never should that affect the way you treat customers who were nothing but nice to you.

The special cake that Lynden Safeway did for the NORTHWEST STEAM SOCIETY was beautiful. It was done exactly as I asked with perfect flavor for our 50th Anniversary. Thanks

It’s a grocery store. It’s clean and the staff is friendly. The last 2 times I have bought meat (steak) the quality has been terrible. I bought two New York Strips directly from the meat department. After cooking them to perfection, i found that my entire NY was fat and gristle. I picked through it and ended up with 4 bites of meat.Yesterday for Fathers Day, we ended up getting steak again, this time, the steak was all gristle. One bite, I was done.Anyways, I’ll still shop here as it’s really the only legit grocery store in Lynden but i definitely won’t be buying their meat anytime soon.

Expensive. But we needed supplies. And this was only place we could findThey did have what we needed. Took awhile to find. Used self checkout. They close and lock the one entry doorOf course , that one was the closest to our vehicle. Just a few more steps that day.

Not the biggest Safeway, but it's clean and well organized, and we usually find what we're looking for.
