So, we brought our 12 year old Nissan 370Z here, with an intermittent misfire engine code. We pulled the code ourselves- multiple cylinder misfire but not constant. Brought it to the Nissan dealership first and- I am not making this up- got a $3888 quote. To replace the spark plugs, and a new battery and fan belt and a basic 30K mile service. AND it would take several days. After I got done hitting the roof and whatnot, I called Greg's. Zach quoted me $800ish over the phone to do the spark plugs and 30K service. I took my car over from the Nissan dealership at light speed, and brought it to Greg's. This was on a Saturday. I brought it over at noon. Zach and the team got all the things done for $800. They also did a very thorough inspection. Granted, I didn't go for a new battery or fan belt. But that is a crazy difference, regardless. The team at Greg's got it done in 3 hours, same day. Frankly I was shocked at how fast they took care of us. And it was such a good experience. Zach was on top of it. When we asked to see our spark plugs he was already on it. 10/10, Zach and Chrystian are awesome. We will be back, what a breath of fresh air!Greg's took care of me in the '90s when I was a broke college student with an '87 Hyundai Excel, and they lived up to it today.

Like some other reviews, I agree you need to be very wary of this branch. They seem unethical. My friend's 17 year old daughter brought in her Acura ILX for an oil change. They told her that the battery needed to be replaced and that see needed to bring the car back immediately because the brake pads were less than 1mm.We had just swapped the battery less than two years ago and there were no indications that power was bad, so we were kind of surprised about that. What really got us was the brake pads--you can kind of see them by looking through tire and they looked pretty good. However, we took them to another mechanic and they verified that they looked fine and could definitely be driven at least for another 5000 miles. There is good chance that might not have tried this with someone older, but it is really scummy when a place takes advantage of young women who may not know much about cars. Beware!

overpriced predatory automotive business. took my 09 subaru impreza here for a spun rod bearing and they tried to charge me $200 just for analytics and quoted me $6-$12K for the spun rod bearings. Ended up taking my subaru to APM in Edmonds for $3300 fix. My subie runs like new now and will NOT recommended Gregs' Japanese Auto to anyone that I know or will know in my life.

They tried to upsell tires. Brought the car in with the check engine light on and they claimed we only asked for maintenance. They did not diagnose the issue. Charged $700 for nothing. an unbelievable experience lesson learned. They let us leave with a car that may be a danger to drive.

Zach was very friendly and knowledgeable. I called 8AM on a Saturday because I thought there’re something wrong with my brakes, he was able to squeeze me in even though they have multiple appointments scheduled for the morning. He checked everything and let me know everything is good to go and don’t need any repairs.I appreciate very much with their honesty and transparency, will definitely go back if my car needs any repairs in the future!

Brought my 06 acura here for a battery change. After about a week, it died overnight. Had to bring it back (obviously) for them to find the problem, and i was embarrassed because i thought I left a light on. Not so. It took about 4 appointments, 1 refusal to initiate warranty(lol), 1 out of pocket tow to the shop, and about $100 with each and every visit before they realized it was an electrical issue and they needed a blank check to work at their hourly rate of $200 to find the problem. By this point, I simply ran out of money. Gregs Japanese Auto of Lynnwood nearly completely capsized my life financially during a time when I was desperately working two jobs to pay for my dogs surgery (shes fine now). $500+ in fees and not to mention my lost wages from having to call off work 4 times and the problem never got fixed. With the best customer service in the world, this location gently bent me over and made a god damned fool out of me. I was the sucker of the month for them. I'm a car guy myself - just too busy to work on my own and thought this place was nice after reading reviews. It will be you next. Buyer beware - go elsewhere. I pray for the day this place goes out of business.

I have had several experiences at Greg's over the past 2 years and I feel like it is time to write them a view for my numerous experiences. From a used car pre-buy inspection that saved my family (maybe quite literally saved us) from buying a hidden disaster, to having work done on brakes, transmission, and radiator work on my other two Toyota's, I have been very impressed with their quality of work, customer service, taking the time to explain the situation and options, being timely, and offering a good value as well. These guys know imports and I would trust their work and integrity on any of my vehicles in the future. Bravo Greg's keep up the good work!!Services: Transmission

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the recent service I received at your auto shop. The experience I had has left me shocked and appalled at the unprofessional conduct and lack of integrity demonstrated by your staff. To provide a comprehensive account of the incidents, I must highlight the following series of events:1. Delayed Examination: Despite leaving my car in your shop's care, it took an astounding three days before your technicians even fully inspected the vehicle. This unacceptable delay in assessing the issue demonstrates a lack of efficiency and disregard for the customer's time.2. Exorbitant Price Quote: After the delayed inspection, I was presented with a repair estimate that was shockingly high. The quoted price far exceeded the reasonable market rates for the necessary repairs. Such an inflated estimate reflects either a blatant attempt to exploit customers or a lack of knowledge and expertise in accurately assessing repair costs.3. Car Condition Deterioration: Following my decision to decline the expensive repair and retrieve my car, I was informed that it would take an additional hour to return it to me. Regrettably, the wait time extended to an unreasonable three hours. When I finally received my vehicle, it was in an even worse state than when I initially brought it in. The car would not move at all, requiring me to have it towed to a reputable shop for further inspection.4. Intentional Damage: Upon inspection by the reputable shop, it was discovered that the adjusters of my car had been excessively tightened, rendering the vehicle immobile. This deliberate act of sabotage is nothing short of shocking and completely unacceptable. It is disheartening to think that a professional auto shop would intentionally worsen the condition of a customer's vehicle solely to pressure them into agreeing to expensive repairs.5. Coercion and Threats: Additionally, I must highlight the unwarranted pressure I experienced when attempting to retrieve my car. Your staff, aware of the damages they caused, threatened to charge me for holding the vehicle in your shop if I did not promptly take possession of it. This kind of coercive behavior is both unethical and manipulative. As a customer, I trusted your auto shop to provide quality service and professionalism. Regrettably, my experience has shattered that trust completely. I expect a reputable establishment to take responsibility for its actions and rectify any damages caused. I urge you to thoroughly investigate the aforementioned incidents, hold the responsible individuals accountable, and take immediate steps to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Good service and work. Everyone we have interacted with was polite and professional.Costs seem to be reasonable, and they accept the Costco service program, which helps.

Never do any kind of diagnostics from here, brought my car for leaking oil and they charged me over $200 for just the diagnostics, I’ve gotten this for free in other places, i wasn’t even told that this would cost me that much. Will never come again

I had a great experience at Greg's with Nolan and his team. I was given a strait forward qoute with options and suggestions. I did not shop around because I don't begrudge a business doing something well for a fair price. At no time was anything anything but strait forward. Not happy to need them but glad I know about Greg's Lynnwood.

Gave my car for an oil change service and was told that my valve cover gasket needed to be fixed. I was quoted ~$850 for the replacement. I didn't replace it as I wanted to get a second opinion. Took my car down the road to Andy's - the technician there mentioned the car is in great shape and there's absolutely no issue with the valve cover gasket. The technician at Andy's even mentioned that he would trust driving the car to Florida, condition as it is. I've had positive experiences servicing my car at the Greg's downtown location but my experience at the Lynnwood branch left a lot to be desired. Tricking customers isn't the right way to build a business.

The staff here was fantastic this morning. I told them ahead of time I believed my vehicle needed new brakes and rotors. They were able to resurface the rotors, complete an oil change and tire rotation as well as install new bulbs that had burned out. With my Costco discount I ended up paying about 200 dollars less than the dealership. This repair shop told me of some services needed for in the future, and didn't make me feel like I had to do everything at once. I'll be back for sure!

I've brought my Hyundai here twice, first time they fixed an issue and had my car up and running well. Today it was only an oil change but they've always been super helpful and friendly they found a couple issues that should be worked on in the near future but didn't pressure me to have them work on anything. They even offered their shuttle service without me asking for it.
