I've been working out at Jekel Strength Club (JSC) for more than six months. Unlike other chain networks of gyms in the area, JSC provides you with adaptive resistance training equipments which monitor your progress. Ross and Paul are great trainers, guiding you all the way through your strength build up. I would highly recommend this place.

I've been working out with Jekel Strength Club for over 2 years. I'm an avid free weight lifter, but Paul and Ross at Jekel SC used their fully computer controlled and adaptive feedback system to boost my free weight performance much further than I ever expected to get, and with amazingly short workouts of a couple of reps per exercise. 20 minutes with them has been as good as an hour of plate reps in moving my numbers. With Covid they switched to remote robot driven workouts that have worked out very well for myself and family members. Personalized workouts and high efficiency - hard to beat under any other system.

Our family of 4 have been going to Jekel Strength Club for about 2 years. We each are in different stages of life and different stages of health, and yet the experience is so personalized that it's been the right thing for each of us - we have ALL seen huge gains that have directly improved our overall health. Their high-tech professional athlete-level equipment is amazing, even for someone like me who is the opposite of a professional athlete. They've gone even more high tech since the pandemic with Robots. With these robots that easily move around the space with us and have screens on the "head" of the robot, we feel like Ross & Paul are right there in the room with us every step of the way, as they were before the shutdown. The best part of the whole experience is that my preteen/teen sons enjoy going with us. I wasn't surprised that my son who enjoys exercise and school sports loved it, but even my other son who prefers more sedate activities is enjoying it and likes seeing the gains in muscle strength and definition.

I absolutely love going to jekel strength club. Ross and Paul are extremely knowledgeable in the areas of fitness and exercise science, biology, kinesiology, etc and they’re always well informed on the latest developments and scientific breakthroughs in their field. They also have state of the art equipment you cannot find anywhere else- we are so privileged to have this access so close to Seattle without having to be a professional athlete. Ross and Paul are extremely dedicated to providing a safe experience - they even invested in telepresence robots so they can continue their training with their clients during Covid. Typically one trainer will be in the studio while the other trainer is on telepresence robot while I train with my partner. The telepresence experience is quite seamless and because the equipment is so high-tech and high-end, they are able to program and control it remotely. Ross and Paul emphasize quality over quantity. Their protocol is one training session per week so we don’t mind making the drive from Seattle to Lynnwood once a week. I highly recommend trying this unique studio which is truly unlike any of the other options in the greater Seattle area.

I'm giving Jekel three stars because I have a friend who loves their method of training and has achieved great results. Also because it is family run, and I really liked the guys. My problem was that I came in with the goal of building strength to avoid getting injured and left with two brand new injuries that have yet (after three months of PT) to subside. I consider myself a fairly athletic person, so these new injuries are upsetting. I now have a very sore lower back, which I feel anytime I lean down to tie my shoe and a very intense bicep strain which extended into my arm and up my shoulder. I can trace both of these back to specific exercises I was asked to do. I think the issue was that I was given no warm up other than some shoulder exercises, and their methodology of having by you exert and maintain maximum force over a period of time resulted in injury. You can't have someone walk in off the street cold and ask them to strain with all their might and not expect injury. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that until the day after my appointment. Like I said, my friend really likes this place, so I don't want to bash it. My experience just wasn't good, and it continues to have negative implications on what I can do now athletically. If the owners ever read this, please PLEASE warm people up better before you have them work out. To have never had back pain and now have it totally sucks.

An amazing strength club with staff that treats you like a person instead of customer. Highly personal and really flexible also running through quarantine.
