We had moved into Novela a year ago with our kids with the thought of being able to take them to the pool and amenities. Unfortunately, the pool had to be closed down halfway through the summer, so we weren't even able to use it with our small children much. Halfway through living there, we got a new property manager, Eric, and he was very good at responding to inquiries and seeing to things very quickly, which we really appreciated! The maintenance gentlemen were also very nice and prompt. The apartments themselves are older but pretty roomy inside for an apartment and they have done some updated finishes inside, but the outside needs some updates which they have said they will be working on those. The parking is probably the most difficult part if you have more than one vehicle, being a smaller property. If you can rent an extra spot, it is a little better, but there are a lot of people that park in random places, which management has been working on and that has been nice.

Well I just moved in and have to give a very special thank you to Eric, the property manager. He was very helpful with getting me in. He answered all and I MEAN ALL of my questions. The apartment is nice and the complex itself looks nice as well. I hope living here will be a great experience. I will come back once I’m settled in and give another review. I tell you though, these reviews got me SHAKING IN MY BOOTS.

Take my deposit and application fees and give us false promising. It’s been almost two months they haven’t refund my deposit and application fees. So, the scenario was I actually want to rent a place there before fill out all the application they promised me to give back whether my application has been approved or not within a week as I need to move out as soon as possible. Then I paid for the deposits and application fee. The customer services was so bad his name is Eric. Everytime I call him, he always reply us arrogantly and did not give any solution. The n , I end up cancel the application as it already exceed the time that had promise us. They promise to give us full refund within 7 business days; however it has been almost two months since I sent them an email and tried to call them every week but the response seems like we are like a debt collector and answer us rudely. I am really disappointed with this management and I hope that no one fill follow my path and go through this. I do not recommended to stay in this place. ?

Definitely more cons than pros living here.Management is questionable for sure and often difficult to reach.Couldn’t get someone parked in my spot towed because paperwork didn’t properly document my spot number. There’s a lot of a certain demographic residing here who lack decency. Regularly speeding over the speed bumps inside the complex, and having gatherings with obnoxious music, littering, and setting off fireworks. Good luck asking maintenance to do something about this if I can’t even get a car parked illegally in my spot towed.I will say maintenance gets to tasks rather quickly, but the units themselves have had questionable amends. The caulk on my bathtub has been coming off even though I’ve only lived here for a few months.

Arguably one of the worst managed places I’ve ever seen. Can’t hold onto a manager. Can’t seem to have decent parking for residents or guests. All in all I’m definitely paying too much for a place that feels like section 8 housing and I make too much for food stampsUpon moving in the bedroom doors were water damagedPaint was terrible (and still is)We got updated appliances yippeeAnd nothing elseWhy is the pool greenCan I rate a 0 cause this place is worthy of a 0

I was able to get one of the upstairs units with the vaulted ceilings, & my unit was also renovated before I moved in, so overall the unit I’m in is spacious & comfortable, & it’s pretty nice for what it is. Everything is white & stainless steel for the most part, & the washer & dryer are new & work great. However, we’ve had quite a few issues with appliances/drawers/doors breaking or malfunctioning in various ways. We used to be able to put urgency level on maintenance requests, to kind of control when they would be coming to fix the problem, but the maintenance staff has turned over quite a bit since I moved in about 3 years ago, and that urgency option is now gone. I’ve had to wait up to a week for someone to fix something as important as the dishwasher, and they didn’t come until I called twice, so I’m not sure if they even really saw the maintenance request. When things do get “fixed,” they usually are just patched up & repaired as cheaply/easily as possible. As for parking, like some people have already said, it’s not great at all. You get one assigned spot per unit, any other spot you’d like to reserve must be available (which they usually aren’t since they’re all covered and there’s very few), and for an extra monthly fee of close to $50. Most people park their extra vehicles in the visitor parking, leaving that lot almost always full, and hardly ever any room for actual visitors. Most visitors ( and many residents) park off the premises and walk. The amenities, such as gym & pool, are useable, but not the cleanest or best functionality. Overall though, besides those few issues, it’s an overall pretty good place to live, and for the area of town we’re in, Novela feels pretty safe & secure.

Older but very spacious and nicely remodeled apartments. We lived here for a year and half and never had any major issues. Manager and maintenance were always happy to help if needed. Grounds are cleaned weekly. Additional parking is available for purchase. Location and the cost of rent for 3 bedrooms, you can’t beat that!

My friend lives here and the parking is terrible. No one moves there cars from visitor parking and management won't do anything. I hate visiting here because you either have to park 5 blocks away if you live here and have more than one car or risk getting towed. Management is useless to help even though most of the cars parked in the visitor parking are abandoned.

I have lived at Novela Apartments since 2017, since Mona left this place has gone down hill. Biggest problem is parking, there are very few “visitor” spots and those are always full with residents extra cars. Management puts out letters threatening to tow vehicles that are parked in fire lanes, parked longer than 24hrs or stacked parking, but that is all it is, just a threat, nothing ever happens. Cars park in the fire lanes all night long hours. Besides the fact when a lease is renewed they are going to charge the tenets $35 for the parking spot that is assigned to their apartment and if you want a covered spot it will be $65 a month. I will be moving out when my lease is up.

I had a rocky time moving in here and there were some bumps in the road but considering that this is in the middle of a pandemic I think that Raeann did the best job she could have with the situation. At first I wasn't too happy but within a reasonable amount of time given the circumstances the issues I had were fixed. I really enjoy living here for the most part, I haven't ever had a bad interaction with any of the staff and the only thing I've noticed is that at times there are shady characters that are looming around, I haven't had to deal with anything that they may or may not be doing so I just leave them alone or call security to check it out. One thing I wish could be adopted here would be a smoking policy or that there were designated areas to smoke. My neighbors smoke as they have the right to do but it does come into my apartment and its very strong if I ever have the windows open anywhere other than my bedroom. In summer this is a huge issue because of how hot it is but I dont want the smoke coming into my house. Other than that I have no complaints and am enjoying my spacious apartment and quiet neighbors.
