Pricey. Some items are more expensive than if you bought it new. No dressing rooms but pretty organized.

Unhinged staff. They think it's okay to target BIPOC customers and accuse them of stealing. It's one thing to ask to see proof of purchase (which can be declined), it's a whole different story when an employee snatches personal property out of a customer's hands. Surprised no employee here has been charged with theft or assault yet based on other reviews.

Your shopping experience is dependent on your race, according to the store manager. If you're any shade darker than Caucasian, expect to be accused of stealing. The store manager was extremely rude and accused me of theft EVEN THOUGH ALL MY ITEMS WERE ON THE RECEIPT. She then tried to RECHARGE ME for the lamp saying it should have been $15 not $10. After she verified that she tried to REACH INTO my small bag. She caused such a commotion I was late to my church function on EASTER. And for what? The camera systems are so advanced they should be able to tell. I'm frankly repulsed such an unprofessional and vile woman was able to con her way into store management. NO WONDER the store is in such an apparent state of disarray. Truly filthy. Stay away.

I actually like this store, however, I've noticed the heavy set women who work at the check out areas often ask people (mostly women) who look like they're in their 40's if they want the "senior discount". Maybe it's a thing at VV because I remember when I was 42! (looking about 35ish) someone at the checkout asked me if I wanted the senior discount. I'm not even 50 (still looking about 5 years younger) and they asked about the senior discount?! I'm not sure if they're doing this because they feel jealous or they feel bad about their weight, in any case, it's wrong.

I have been finding many items without price tags on the shelves recently, and there are only certain “pricer” employees that can put tags back on items. Every time I have needed one, they are not there to price items, so I just can’t buy that thing. I almost wonder if the employee purposely remove tags to save items for themselves knowing that people cannot get tags made. ?Just a thought.

I've been shopping at VV for many years. The Lynnwood store manager has repeatedly failed in terms of being professional, yet I continued to give him more chances to redeem himself. Our experience yesterday in the store was beyond horrifying. We were at the self check and an employee approached us and told us she was going to need to unbag all our items and check the screen for every item. When I asked why, she wouldn't give us an answer other than, "I need to check." I asked for the manager because we were in a hurry and didn't have the time for this process unless there was a good reason. The assistant manager arrived and when I asked for the first name of the employee so I could identify her to the store manager, I was told it was a secret. So the employees wear name tags but hide their names and when asked they refuse to provide them?Fortunately, the assistant manager apologized for the employee's targeting behavior toward us and said she hoped we come back. We asked when the store manager would be working, she said she didn't know but "hoped" he would be in the next day? This store manager behaves as if he is the production manager rather than the store manager and works the alot of hours when the store is closed. When we were leaving, the employee who had targeted us yelled at me and called me, "mam." I asked her not to refer to me as "mam" and she then called me, "sir." When I asked her not to call me either, she and the other employee burst out laughing at me in a mocking manner. The ironic thing about this bigoted behavior was one employee was wearing a rainbow lanyard and the one who targeted us was wearing a "he, him" badge. Apparently, they think it is funny and mock worthy when a customer doesn't want to be referred to in a gendered manner. When I called the store manager (Chris) today to explain what happened, he yelled at me, gaslit me, accused me of being the only customer who ever complains and refused to continue speaking with me. After reading some of the their reviews, I found it odd that he would make those accusations of me, especially since I never gave him my name.Hopefully, the DM will fire Chris as this guy is a loose canon, in my opinion and completely unsafe. His behavior explains why he is hiring employees who target, mock and bully customers.

I use to love this value village but it’s going down hill. They are pricing cheap shirts etc more than it costs new. They removed the dressing rooms awhile ago which is also a pain. Now when I come the racks are empty. They can’t even stock the floor due to shortage of workers. I come because it’s close but I’m really tired of wasting my time to come to a store that’s empty…

Lowest quality possible self check out registers and no option for a regular check out. I am a former grocery checker and am pretty good with these things. I think every other tag was punched THROUGH the QR code. Also NO fitting rooms, and you can only get store credit when returning something. VV has become a dumpster fire.

Inflation has hurt all thrift stores hard, but this one is still a decent place to find a variety of items. I don't typically find high-end merchandise on the racks but every once in a while, there will be a gem. My biggest complaint is the lack of changing rooms especially since their prices are nearly the same as Ross/TJ Maxx so the "exchange only within 14 days" policy can really put a dent in your wallet if items don't fit right. The girl with the green hair dye and tall boots (review written summer 2023) is the best. She seems to have a good sense of how to do her job with a customer-focused perspective.
