I was recommended by my friend and my first appintment was with Dr Simmons. The experience was awesome and this is the first vet that makes me feel the doctors care about the patients; They asked my cats all previous medical records a week before my appointment and sent me the estimates of services. During the appointment,Dr Simmons shared lots of feline knowledge and answered my questions patiently. After I got the blood panel test report, she still followed up with my questions. This is what a vet should be.

We took our cat (Shoyu) to Island Cats Veterinary Hospital (ICVH) on Tuesday (January 23). We couldn't be happier with the services, communication and care we and our sweet Shoyu received. Island Cats Veterinary Hospital sent us an email a few days before our appointment to fill out important information about Shoyu. Shoyu had been sick for nearly 8-10 days at that time and we had even taken her an emergency vet clinic in Bellevue the prior to our visit to the Island Cats Veterinary Hospital. Everybody at ICVH we interacted with was extremely nice and welcoming and exhibit genuine care about Shoyu and us (my girlfriend and I had been worried sick about Shoyu for 8-10 days before we came to ICVH). We were able to accompany Shoyu in the exam room. The person that screened her condition prior to the vet was very nice and professional. The vet was very nice and knowledgeable and took her time to explain what could be wrong with Shoyu. They performed a UTI test on Shoyu, gave us some pain killers for her and we were on our way. Shoyu was a bit nervous but she didn't meow even once at the vet, which was a surprise to us because she will usually complain (meow) right away when she doesn't like something. ICVH followed up with us the days after the appointment to check on Shoyu's progress. I cannot express how happy we are with the service and genuine care our fur baby received at ICVH. We would 100% bring Shoyu, and her sister Bao, back to ICVH when necessary. I highly recommend this place for cat owners, even if you don't live on Mercer Island. Thank you ICVH! (PS: Shoyu is doing much better and back to her usual self, which has been a great relief to us.).

There is no better place to take your cat. I've taken 4 kittens here when I adopted them, and I've had to put a cat down at this clinic. During both happy and sad occasions, I think I've worked with just about everyone here, and every single vet, every vet tech, and the front desk staff have been top notch. Do not hesitate to take your cat here. You won't regret it.

I rarely leave reviews. However, I want other cat parents to know about this Kitty Oasis. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur babies. Dr. Simmons is the real deal. Genuine, personable, intuitive, caring, absolutely exceptional. She leaves no stone unturned. Up until now, I've always felt rushed through appointments. Just another paying customer. Our Fur babies deserve the best, and Island Cats delivers above and beyond.I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Simmons and the amazing staff at Island Cats! ???????

So very happy I found this place last night. I found a little guy who I thought might have gotten injured and was blind. I had called my normal vet and a couple of other places who flat out refused to help. Who the hell in this industry refuses to help someone who may be hurt just boggles my brain beyond belief.

This is one of the best cat specific vets you will find in my opinion. My cat suffers for CKD, he wasn't getting the best care at a previous vet. The entire Island cats staff is awesome and really take their time to address the pets needs, and their owners concerns.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We've been bringing our cats here for the past 15 years and it's always a pleasurable experience. At least as pleasurable as dragging an unhappy cat to the vet can be.

From my experience, this vet is expensive and can give poor diagnosis for basic injuries. Even worse, they displayed bad ownership following an incorrect diagnosis.Dental estimate here was 30% more than another cat specialty hospital on the eastside.I have been bringing my cat here with no problems for half a year before the following experience. We brought him in immediately after he started to limp. I personally investigated and found it looked like his claw was punctured into his adjacent toe bean before going to the doctor. I told the doctor this, but they determined that my diagnosis was not the case and his claw had just fallen off - they treated it as so. After about a week he had stopped limping so we trusted the doctor and assumed it was healed.A month later I saw he was licking his foot and checked up on his paw again... Still as inflamed as before! Still looked like his claw was stuck in the adjacent toe bean, just like before. After communicating with the hospital about a follow up, it was apparent they were not owning up to the incorrect diagnosis and intended to charge me again for that follow up appointment which absolutely should have been addressed the first time around. We ended up going forward with another cat specialty hospital on the eastside to see his injured foot. They immediately found and removed the claw that had been puncturing/infecting his toe bean for an entire month!

Overall, I found the experience here to be very straightforward and streamlined. The staff was very kind to my cats and me. The atmosphere at the clinic is very calm. I am very very glad I found them after my vet of 30+ years retired without notice.

We’ve been seeing Dr. Sophia for about 2 years for check ups and shots. Mr. Bug had an upset stomach and we took him to Island Cats this month and everyone was so amazing. The staff understood how stressful a sick cat can be and did everything to make us feel comfortable. Bug was diagnosed with stress colitis. The apple doesn’t fall farm from the tree! #anxious ?

They were over 30min late, seemed like they care about literally everything else but people getting seen on time. After this experience I will not be returning and instead finding a vet that cares.Edit: After finding a better vet, I’m shocked that island cats chose to not investigate my cats heart murmur. After the new vet checked their records it seems this should have been done multiple years ago. This makes me really think this place is focused on selling to the humans and not taking care of our fur babies to the best of their ability.
