Umpqua bank has gone down the tubes since the merger. They've started charging a monthly fee for bill pay -- a monthly fee to use my own money. No other bank I can find imposes this fee. Worse, the employees I talked to about the new charge on my account had no idea about the policy, so it took almost an hour to get an answer. I've closed my account.

I've come in to this branch a few times, and every single time, I've been impressed with the service I receive here. Cindy has always helped me and always seems genuinely willing to go above and beyond to solve any problems i might be having.

I don’t often visit in person, so I was delighted to be so warmly welcomed into the bank. The manager of another branch met me here at my home branch to complete some documents so it would be more convenient for me. Nice touch!!

This bank is pretty awesome!! I've been with them for both personal and business banking for over 10 years now. THESE BANKS ARE ACTUALLY FILLED WITH PEOPLE WHO CARE and not just filled. Time after time they go above and beyond to take care of me. This last time was QUITE AMAZING! I'm absolutely positive this would NOT happen at any other banks ESPECIALLY THE BIG BANKS. I know from many past experiences.

Been with Umpqua since 2010. I started with the Capital Hill location and recently moved to Mercer Island and love this location and the people who work there. Greg, the manager, is great and is always quick to help with whatever I need to get done. The rest of the team is friendly and personable as well.

This review is for both the local bank and corporate. Corporate: impossible to deal with. Wife originally got the home loan on her own through Sterling before the merger, but then I added onto it. We went through all their silly forms and hoops and despite that they kept refusing to let me manage the loan or get info when I called in claiming I was not authorized. Even after we got it fixed after a couple years it "reset" and then they refused to fix it. Miserable experience and no 24/7 bankers on the phone for support. Local: people at this branch acted helpless to do anything and clueless on how banking worked. Wouldn't help us with the above issue or even paying our mortgage. We'd walk in the store and they'd stick is in a corner with a phone to their corporate and tell us to solve it ourselves. Worse, when my wife was parked in their parking spot some idiot came out and yelled at her and told her it was for customers only. She explained she was a customer and was about to walk in and the guy said he did t believe her and to get lost. Will never do business with this bank or the chain again.

I've been banking with umpqua for 7 years. They are hands down the best bank I have ever worked with. Personal service is great and they take care of all my issues. Debbie at the Mercer island branch is particularly wonderful. I will be a customer for life - highly recommend.

Not a very easy bank to work with. Their billing system is unreliable. I did not receive a statement last month which is what reminds me to pay bill. And I was talk down to on the subject of how to pay bills. I know how to pay my bills, thank you. I will not be opening another account with them and hopefully will be paying off my existing loan soon. Bank of America is my bank of choice. They will be getting all my business.
