The mood here is depressing and the pricing here is offensive, monopolistic, and gratuitous. I imagine they have their "reasons", but considering the lack of workers, this is unreasonable. What happened to grocery baggers eagerly helping you to your car? Now it's down to one surly underpaid person watching six self-serve registers. I don't care if the minimum wage is high. These people are working hard and it shows that the company isn't respecting them. If you want an energetic work force, you need to pay for it or they will just get a better job! That's how capitalism works! That's how competition works! I don't want to support a place with sad workers. I'm going to... Oh... I dunno... Costco?... Grocery Outlet?... The farmer's market?... PEACE ✌️
After receiving a reply from the Safeway reply... person? (Honestly, it could have been automated.) I would like to point out that
1) The prices are very beatable (Winco, Costco, Amazon)
2) The staff would be friendlier if they were paid better (Winco, Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joes)
3) There aren't enough staff to be helpful and even if there were it's not like they would help me to my car anymore.
4) The atmosphere just isn't great. Looking up at the lights just reminds you that you're being watched by no less than 4 cameras at any time. It's awful. I loath it.
In fact, receiving this automated response reminds me just how bad all of this is, and that the corporate entities live in denial about their stores. Gross.
I'm removing another star.

I ordered a sandwich here in the morning and it was well made and delicious. Employees were very nice.

I visited today to pick up prescriptions at the Sav-on pharmacy inside the store. They are always fast, efficient and friendly. Tara and her staff are great!

A great safeway. The two deli employees were super nice and helpful. Latoya/Latonya(?) was fantasic ringing me up. All 3 of them were great.

Just wanted to give a shout out to a cashier named LaToya. She made my day with her cheerful attitude, friendliness, and sass! Prior to this, I had a very bad customer service experience at Papa Murphy's, so I wasn't in the best of moods. She pulled me out of my funk by her exceptional customer service! I hope they can keep her! Just a very pleasant experience! Thank you, LaToya!

Some lady worker was standing at the front of the store with two other males while stuffing her face with potato chips. Very unprofessional, especially now when cleanliness is paramount. Everyone else was standing their blank faced while she took their time from doing a good job while they waited for her to continue to eat chips. I hope she washed her hands before she touched groceries. Don't eat at the store entrance. Don't force your customers or support staff wait for you you you. I thought I finally found a good grocery store, but nope. Incompetence is everywhere now.

Near my house and visit this or the Safeway toward Hwy 9. Both locations suffer from Wi-Fi and Cell Service inside the store being terrible. Would hate to have to attempt to call during any emergency situation. Nowadays this is dangerous!
