I love this community bank. I really wish they would allow some more features like monthly debit charge for a service I use that bills from Australia. I guess this is all about high securit.

I have nothing but praise for this bank and the people there. I made a $50K mistake by writing a check from the wrong account that didn't have the funds. Instead of rejecting the check, I got a call from a banker. She explained the problem and with my approval, transferred the funds into the account from my other one and cleared the check. All over the phone. I have never had this kind of service from a bank before. I am a fan of small and local.

So, I am about to be a former client of Bluevine Bank. What does that have to do with Coastal Community Bank. Plenty. Bank account services provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC. I deposit a check and get told the first time it might take 1 to 4 days to clear. Four is long, but OK, Maybe they need to establish a pattern for my deposits. I deposit a second check and now it will take SIX days according to their chat! We're in the age of everything instant and a bank wants to take SIX DAYS to clear a $250 check. Unbelievable. I called Coastal and they say it is not them doing the banking. Really? "Bank account services provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC." If it isn't, then management is completely incompetent and should NOT be running a bank, period.

What a great bank with a great set of customer service related employees. They always greet me with a smile and address me by my name as if we’re old friends. Both the Sultan and Monroe branches are quality banks who go above and beyond great customer service. I’m so glad I chose this bank after leaving bank of america for their deceitful practices.

So I was told today by the "manager" that I have to close my account and open a whole new account rather than a simple name being removed from my account. A name mind you that I went into said branch and added to my account less than a year ago. I am then told that the bank will not process a refund nor replace the box of checks that I paid for when I first opened the account many years ago. They will not provide me with checks for the new account that they are forcing me to open because they are forcing me to close my account of many years. I then reiterated the points that the bank is going to force me to close my current account and force me to open an entirely new account because they will not just simply remove a name from my account. And the bank will not issue a new box of check nor reimburse me for the checks that I was already charged for and paid for. Rather they will give me 4 temporary counter checks with my name printed on them for the new account they are forcing me to open. The "manager" then scoffs at me over the phone and says to me "However you want to look at it" I said I am not looking at this anyway... I simply reiterated your exact words and term you presented to me. She again scoffed at me said. "We are not forcing you to do anything" I said well great then you'll be removing the name from my account and that will fix this whole issue and take care of the problem? She scoffed once more and said "NO" noticeably irritated and said "I already told you, you have to close your current account and open a new account." So I once more said then you indeed are forcing me to close my current account and forcing me to open up a new account. She says "However you want to look at it" I then said then you tell me how I should look at it other than the exact way you have presented it to me. She had nothing further to say.

Phone app is not at all user friendly and totally behind time when it comes to technology.. App should have more navigation and easier to use.. Online representatives should be people friendly
