Great small scale market with lots of spices, candies, and various odds n ends you'd need if you are a hispanic or latin american person looking for ingredients! Not much in the way of bulk, no meats or fish, great selection of pan dulce and a restaurant in the back. Quite cramped, so going by yourself or a partner is about all I'd recommend. Not a great place if you have very grabby kids!Parking: Free parking on the street (Main Street) but few and far between and often full. Timed parking (4 hr, 15 minutes).Wheelchair accessibility: Not amazing accessible - store is cramped.

Very disappointed with the service here. I have ordered 5 cakes from here. The last time was dry so it fine it happens. This time around the owner took my order and i come to find out they made my cake all wrong 5 min before leaving to pick it up.1. I didn’t receive a call from the owner of the mistake. It was made completely wrong. The owner new about it and was told to let me know when I picked it up. I learned about this when I called to let them know I was on my way.2. I asked to speak to the owner on the phone and I was told no. I asked to call the owner and provide a discount for their MISTAKE and I was told no.3. I was told I could either pick up or leave it for the owner to take it.4. I said I would still pick it up but would like to speak with the owner. When I go pick it up I wait maybe 5 min for it. The name is completely wrong on top of how the cake was made. I told the lady upfront even the name was wrong and she didn’t even say a word not even a sorry.5. I asked how long ago was the owner there and she said she left 5 min ago. This is a lie as I called 12 min prior to speak with her and was told she wasn’t there.Overall, we got the cake because we needed one but disappointed with the service from the front lady and the owner. You’d think a business would own up their own mistake but not this business. Im all about supporting small businesses but how this went no longer will.

September 2023 by Tanis L.
Going for a meandering drive today, Wednesday 27 September 2023, in and around the Cascade Mountains in the rain, I decided to see if I could find Pueblo Viejo on West Main Street in Monroe. The street was on the narrow side with parking on both sides of the street. I parked in some of the angled parking across from the address of Pueblo Viejo. There was a large truck between where I parked and where my Apple Maps app had indicated the store was located. Making my way to the closest crosswalk, I crossed the road and found that yes, the store was behind the truck. A banner clearly marked the store front, and the entrance was easy to spot. Upon entering the store, I decided to stop and take a picture. Once I took the picture, I realized there was a woman behind the front counter watching me and I said hello. Looking around, there was a variety of offerings. My dad has been experimenting with different breakfast recipes from different cuisines and I spotted some ingredients he might find fun. However, what engulfed the majority of my attention was the array of bakery items. Trays were available to one side of the baked goods cases along with tongs. Friendly and helpful workers helped me figure out that I got a bag for the items at payment. I went with a pink pan dulce and what ended up tasting and looking to me like a pineapple empanada of sorts. Neither item was too sweet, and both had flavor and texture true to what it was. Together they made for a good sweet tooth fix. The price for both items with tax was $2.10 and cash payment was accepted. The woman who took me through the payment process was the same one sitting behind the counter when I took the picture when I entered the store. She was warm and friendly in our interactions.
