Skagit Valley Food Co-op is a community-owned market that has been working with local farmers and producers since 1973. It is open daily to everyone. The store offers impressive organic vegetables and high quality groceries. People visit its award-winning Deli for made-from-scratch soups, salads, sandwiches, and smoothies, along with small batch ice cream and famous gluten-free donut muffins. The deli has tasty prepared food to eat there or take home, including many vegan options like tofu-based items, cookies, and sandwiches made to order. The Co-op also boasts a fun gift shop on its second floor with unique and local gifts, toys, books, jewelry, and apparel. The store is described as a gem, a wonderland, and is noted for being nice and clean. Many find the employees incredibly lovely. A common observation is that the food is expensive, though the quality is high with great produce, amazing deli items, and yummy bakery offerings. The experience of visiting is enhanced by the appealing smell of food cooking in the deli.

Pretty typical community co-op. Plenty of vegan grocery items, some deli options. A road trip stop for us. We always find something, but have been to co-ops with more vegan fresh food options. Updated from previous review on 2026-05-11
